Summary: Nate's a big fan of contrast.
*****
Nate smiles to himself as he watches Alec run a dark hand over Eliot's tawny skin. He doesn't know when or why Eliot managed to get an all over suntan, but it contrasts beautifully with Alec's skin, with his own, much fairer skin, and particularly well with the red stripes he was currently teaching Alec to apply to Eliot's skin.
With a nod to Alec, Nate steps back and the younger man takes a deep breath, swinging the cane he has been practicing with and leaving a neat red stripe across Eliot's buttocks.
Nate sighs silently to himself as Eliot's whole mien changes, as he comes out of subspace when he realises it's Alec and not Nate, and Nate steps in to put a hand on the man's shoulder. "Easy," he murmurs, and Eliot stills but doesn't relax.
He insists it's not a problem, that it's not going to be a problem, but the fact remains that since the aborted flight to the Cayman Islands – since the flight Alec hadn't shown up for with only a computer game release as an excuse – Eliot hasn't stayed in subspace once when Nate has let Alec take charge of a scene.
Soothing Eliot and shooting a conciliatory glance at Alec, who gave a resigned shrug, Nate began to unfasten Eliot. It's going to take a while, he guesses. Eliot's headstrong at the best of times, and he scares Alec as a team-mate, which carries over a little into scenes, but they will work through it.
And then Nate can sit back and watch the beautiful contrast between his two lovers without any hinderances.
