Hermione, Harry Ron were all sitting at the Gryffindor table in the great hall and were all talking about how well their summer's had gone since the defeat of Voldemort.
Last year Harry had defeated Voldemort, and the wizarding world was just now returning to how it used to be without Voldemort.
Ron and Harry were debating about Quidditch when they were interrupted by Mcgonnagalls speech "Students of Hogwarts! I would like to say welcome back and I hope you all have a wonderful year!" She spoke "to help people transition from the world of terror that used to be, we will be holding auditions for a musical called Beauty and the Beast!" The great hall gasped "audition will be in a week after dinner! Good luck to all of you!" and with that the feast started.
"So are you guys going to audition?" asked Hermione
"Yeah I think I will, i want to get the part of the beast!" Said Ron loudly, maybe a bit to loudly because a figure got up from the Slytherin table and prodded his way over to the Gryffindor table,the figure was none other than Draco Malfoy. "So Weasel, you want the part of the Beast? Well maybe the looks will give you it but I know the talent won't! Snarled Malfoy.
"Who are you to say that to me? Wait you're no one, I bet you couldn't get the role of the beast even if you were the last wizard on earth!" Ron replied back angrily. Now the whole great hall was watching this argument between Ron and Draco.
"Is that a challenge Weasel?" Replied Malfoy
"You bet!"
AND with that Ron stood up in Draco's face and said
"You're going down Malfoy!"
"If I'm going down you're going down with me!"
Then they parted and Harry said "Ron are you sure you're better than Malfoy, because he's really a drama queen?" Somewhat sarcastically.
Ron wasn't paying attention he was thinking about who he wanted Belle to be, and that girl was sitting right next to him. 'Hermione' he thought 'she's so beautiful, she just has to get the part of Belle'
Then Hermione spoke up and Ron woke up from his daydream " Well I'm going to the common room to rehearse for the part of Belle" then she got up and left.
Draco sat back down at the Slytherin table.
Blaise greeted him by saying, "hey Draco, you know Granger's auditioning for Belle?"
Draco's head shot up. "What?!"
"She's auditioning for Belle, and I must say if she gets it, the person playing beast will be so lucky they get to kiss her!"
Blaise has had a crush on Hermione for Merlin knows how long and he was determined to be able to kiss her.
Draco thought to himself 'I know how much Blaise wants to get the part aswell as Weasel, but I know that I'm better than them two combined, even if I have to perform with Granger...
The next day when Hermione went down to the Great Hall, she was surprised to see so many people. Then she figured they're probably just rehearsing for the auditions.
She sat down with her favourite book, Hogwarts: A History, and listened to all the people rehearsing.
On one side of the room were a group of girls from her year, the Patil twins, Lavender Brown, Hannah Abbot and Susan Bones, they were singing 'Something There' and Hermione couldn't help but give a small smirk. They were so off key and loud it was ridiculous. Hermione thought 'well they're not a threat' and then laughed to herself.
Draco walked into the Great Hall and saw a girl figure sitting at the Gryffindor table. It was Granger. He scanned her body and realised how beautiful she actually was! She'd definitely developed over the summer. He stood there in the doorway gawking at her with his mouth open and his eyes barely blinking. "What you gawking at Malfoy?" Screamed Ron "let us get through!" Draco immediately woke up from his daydream.
"Shut it Weasel, why would a Malfoy gawk at anything?" he said and walked to the Slytherin table and sat down 'wait I did not just think of Granger that way? No way no no i don't like her no no."
