Flashback

"Look Mama!" said 4 year old Winter Stone. "I can touch fire!"

Winter touched a burning candle that was on the counter in her house. The flame did not harm Winter at all. Her mother gasped in shock and maybe fear.

"Sweetie," Winter's mother said tensely, "When did you learn you could touch fire?"

"Just now Mama," said Winter happily.

Then at that exact moment 5 flames of fire came down from above and formed a crown above Winter's head.

Then a voice called out," I am the Goddess Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth."

Then the flames around Winter's head disappeared.

Winter's mother fell to her knees and held out her arms. Winter ran into them.

"What's happened, Mama?" whispered Winter.

"My only child", said her mother stroking Winter's black curls," I didn't know this could happen. All this time I thought it would be Zeus."

"It's ok, Mama," said Winter.

Winter didn't fully understand what was happening to her. All she knew was that something had made her mother sad.

Winter's mother held her closer. "We must get you out of here," she said.

"Where are we going?" asked Winter.

"We are going to Camp," said Winter's mother. "It's a place where lots of kids go. Maybe we'll get some ice cream on the way there, would you like that?"

Winter nodded happily.

"All right then", her mother said. "Let's go."

Her mother stood up and took Winter's hand.

Both of them walked out the door. Neither one of them looked back.

Winter's mom was very scared that day. She didn't full expect her child would be the daughter of one of the Greek Gods. Although she had expected it, she had always assumed that Zeus would be the one.

She would have never guessed that her 4 year old child, Winter, was the only daughter of Hestia. Goddess of the Hearth. The one in the next Great Prophecy.
