Chased by Possibility

Summary: Every possibility was a chance and opportunity not to be wasted. So when Atobe Keigo asked: "Ne, Tezuka, can I kiss you?" Tezuka Kunimitsu was not surprised at all. It was just another possibility.

Chased by Possibility

Tezuka Kunimitsu learned not to disregard possibilities.

Every possibility was a chance and opportunity not to be wasted. But he also learned to weigh the feasiblity of each possibility.

Winning against Hyotei. Seigaku could do it, he was resolute to bring them to Nationals.

Winning the Kantou Tournament. Seigaku could do it, he was not needed for them to win.

Winning the National Championship. Seigaku could do it, he was ready to play his part.

Those where the possibilities that he weighed the most. Not with data or figures but with gut instinct and heart. And each time, he had been right.

But there were possibilities that were harder to discern the results.

"Tezuka!"

He didn't know what would happen when Atobe Keigo grasped the back of his jersey. What would happen if he stopped? What would happen if he didn't? What possibilities lay with either?

The grip on his shirt made the decision for him, Tezuka was forced to a halt. He felt the tips of the other's finger brush at his back through the fabric, they were cold.

"Ne, Tezuka, are you free this weekend?"

Here was a possibility (A possibility for what?) that once again his gut instinct had no answer for. (His heart didn't even try to find one.)

Maybe that's why he said yes.

Maybe that's why he said yes a second time.

Maybe that's why he said yes a tenth time.

Possibilities with less people were harder to consider. A group tended to have some conforming element that tied them together, but individual people were spastic and spontaneous.

So when Atobe Keigo asked:

"Ne, Tezuka, can I kiss you?"

Tezuka Kunimitsu was not surprised at all. It was just another possibility.

But this time both his heart and gut instincts knew the results.

A/N: Continuation of Chasing the Impossible! I think there will be one last one-shot to conclude this. I kinda liked writing from Tezuka's POV, even though it's a bit OCC... Oh well, a fanfic writer can't always stay in character or some of these pairing would NEVAH happen. :D
