Roxie squinted into the light, her heart pounding against her chest, her ears ringing with the sound of applause. She was overwhelmed, this was it and she was loving every minute of it. This crowd, this music, these lights were all for her. And Velma. Of course Velma. I fact most of this was actually for Velma. Roxie was here because of her.

She glanced over at her and saw her smile at the camera flashes and reach out to accept her flowers. Velma turned to Roxie, her deep brown eyes locked with Roxies. And she smiled, a cheeky yet friendly little smirk that showed how much she loved this, how this was her life.

Roxie was sitting backstage, draining the last few drops from her class of champagne. She was thinking. Thinking how lucky she was just to be here, that she got to share the stage with a beautiful woman. A smile came across her face. She was glad that she got to know Velma, be in the her presence, just feel her near and simply to look. At Velma and her undeniable beauty.
Roxie began to breath faster. What had she just thought? It didn't make sense. Velma was beautiful, yeah ok pretty but full-on-attraction beautiful?

No, maybe it had just been the moment, the fact that the two women were doing something so amazing, living out their dreams together. Roxie was getting confused. Why did she suddenly feel so strongly for Velma. All this was brand new to her...

"Hey lil' lady, you ok?" Roxie glanced up, "Huh?"
"You look a little shaken up, was that too much for you?" Velma knelt down beside Roxie and looked at her carefully. She laughed, not a degrading laugh at Roxie's plight, more of a kind laugh.
"No, I.....I'm fine." Roxie replied shakily.
"You sure?" Roxie nodded.
"Ok, well, you go home, relax. I know it's a lot to take in, all this, but try to calm down." She squeezed Roxie's shoulder then gently stroked her arm, "and don't worry, you were great out there."
She stood up and walked away. Roxie looked at her. Her hair slightly dishevelled, and her hips swaying slightly as she walked confidently away. Roxie smiled and stared in her direction, her arm still tingling from Velma's touch. Then realizing what she was doing, she turned her head and stood up quickly. "Shit" she muttered.
