"Good night, Hikari"

My eyes shot open. I was laying down. That's right, I went to sleep not too long ago. My head was aching, what happened? Was that a dream? I rubbed my eyes and yawned quietly, I didn't want to wake up my sister.

I propped myself up on my elbows and checked the time on my clock. It was only 3:43 a.m. This has been happening the past few days. I would wake up from a nightmare of some sort around midnight, all shaken and an ache in my head. Then I would fall asleep and wouldn't be bothered till I had to wake up for school.

I flopped back onto my bed. I laid there for a while, checking my clock every now and then to see how much time had passed. I wasn't really tired anymore. Usually I would force myself back to sleep, but I just didn't feel like it. So, I jumped out of bed and slowly opened my door. It creaked slightly but other than that nobody would know that I was awake.

I walked down my dark hallway, pulling out my phone so I could shine some light. The place was pretty creepy at night, but it didn't bother me. My parents always told me I was a light in the dark, always shinning. I remember my mother telling me that as her last words.

My father went missing late one night, I was only a child so I don't t know what happened to him. My mother passed away the next day, leaving me and my sister to live with our grandparents. Nana passed away last year, she died in a car accident. So now it's just my grandpa Ru, my sister Kira, and me, Hikari.

I reached the kitchen and flicked on the lights. It was a big house, my mother and her 4 sisters grew up in it after all. I set my phone down on the counter and made myself a quick bowl of cereal. I sat down on the counter and stared into space, thinking about the dreams I've been having.

My phone went off, pulling me back to reality. I crawled over and grabbed it, unlocking my phone and checking my messages. It was my best friend Alvina, but I just call her Vina.

'Hey you awake?'

Of course she was awake at this time, typical Vina.

'Ya i'm awake. Why are you awake?'

'Watching white maid'

'Of course you are'

I've known Vina since we were kids. She's a great friend and knows things that I would never tell anyone else. She's always either painting or watching Anime.

'You have another nightmare?'

'ya but it was nothing. Alright I should get back to bed, see you at school'

'Goodnight!'

I dumped my cereal down the sink and flicked on my phone light. as I was walking the dark hallway my mind drifted away, why was I having these dreams? Do they relate to that night? Is my sister having nightmares too?

I reached my room and flung open the door, not caring if anyone heard me or not. My phone buzzed again, it was an unknown number. Who is this person? i unlocked my phone to find a sinking feeling in my stomach.
