"What the- What's Happening? All I knew was…" That's when I stopped. Everything stopped… As if… DWMA stood still… What I'm about to tell you is TOP SECRET Nobody but all of Death City knows about this…

It was early morning, everything as normal. Maka, up early making breakfast, Me wanting to sleep in, As usual. Maka was extremely busy, making me a special Breakfast for my birthday.

"Why is my birthday such a big deal to you? It's just another stupid day!" I yelled at Maka… Mistake number 1- NEVER YELL AT MAKA ON MY BIRTHDAY! It is such a big deal to her…

Later on that day, everything was much worse. Stein and the ENTIRE CLASS threw me a surprise party. I HATE SURPRISE PARTY'S. "What is with you people… It's just another stupid day!" I was really angry. Who threw all this together! UGH! "It was Maka's idea. She was out getting you a cake." Death the kid happened to pipe up and tell me what was going on. "Well, Maka is just another stupid girl, obsessed with me!" Well, everybody, this is mistake number two on my birthday – NEVER CALL A HARD-WORKING MAKA STUPID.

Maka was at the door with a homemade cake when I said this. Her eyes widened and teared up and she dropped the cake. For everybody else, it was a quick thing, but nope, not for me. It was like a slow-motion Matrix thing. This was one of the wordst things I've ever done. "Maka! Wait up!" She ran away crying. I ran after her. I found her on the roof bawling her eyes out. "If that's what you think of me, you could have said that you didn't want me to be your partner that day 3 years ago!" Maka has never screamed at me before.

She put her hand on my chest and quietly said "Soul… we can no longer be partners… I'm sorry." She walked away, and I let her. I'm so Damn stupid! She walked away. "Maka Wait! I didn't mean it, but you know how much I HATE my birthday!" She just turned to me and shook her head "No." mistake numero tres – I let her walk away…

The rest of the day went so slow. She wouldn't look at me. No matter what, she wouldn't look at me. Later at the apartment, I saw her packing her things. "Maka… Why are you packing? It was just a misunderstanding, wasn't it?" She looked at me, eyes teary, and said "No… You went to far… goodbye soul." She walked out the door. I started to feel lightheaded. I started to fall to the ground.

"What the- What's Happening?" Dwma stood still. Now I am waking up, four hours later in the infirmiry at school. Overlooking my bed was… Maka?

"Maka!" I stand up and hug her deeply. "Listen. I love you Maka. I am so sorry for the things I said. I didn't mean what I said. I need you. Please come back." "okay!" Let's get your luggage back home." I lean and kiss her on the lips. "I only said those things because… Well… I love you, and I don't want you to worry about something as stupid as my birthday. That's just crazy." She looks at me, with those perfect emerald eyes. "Maka… Your eyes sparkle… just like the star you are."

She hugs me and says "Thanks" then we walk out of DWMA, holding hands, and going to our apartment, together, for the first time as a couple.
