A/N: Short drabble that just struck me at an odd hour, lemme know what you think or not, haha. I don't own PJO series either, thanks.
I was standing there on a steep cliff, overlooking a vast landscape that once flowed with a haunting crimson river. I thought back on my semi-accomplished life and couldn't help but smile to myself. Sure things weren't always pretty or easy, but there was something gratifying about a challenge, and nearly everything I tried to do was definitely a challenge.
"It's such a lovely place, despite everything." The beautiful woman said next to me, as she clutched onto my hand gently.
This brought back a wealth of memories, from varying quests and adventures to everyday life kind of events. I could recall fighting the Titans and getting married, but I could never determine which was the more horrifying feat.
"I can't believe we've made it this far, come this far. What would I have ever done without you?" My eyes slightly watered but I knew this was all going to be okay.
"Why, you would have surely died and then all of western civilization would have fallen right behind you."
Her hair was losing it's once magnificent blond luster, but her eyes never relented in how sharp and calculating gaze. I smiled and kissed her softly before releasing a sigh I wasn't aware of being held in.
"Well, no time like the present." I said a slight bit uncomfortable.
"We're doing this together, remember. It'll all be fine." She squeezed my hand and it was in that next moment we turned to head back inside.
Today was the day I, Percy Jackson, accepted the Immortality of the Gods. However, this time I would be doing so with my best friend next to me. We had both grown much older and lived out such full lives together. Instead of just dying off like so many regular, mortal couples, our parents were giving us this one final gift. We would ascend into godhood with each other, the way they all believed it was properly earned.
"Perseus and Annabeth Jackson, do you both accept this gift?" Those were the last words my mortal ears, mind and body would ever comprehend.
"We do." We both smiled together, replying in unison.
That was the day that the tale and story of Percy Jackson truly ended. It was my the start of my biggest quest ever, but I would never be without her, just like always.
