Brothers

It is done.

He is dead.

My life-long goal has been accomplished.

I stare as the lifeless body slides to the ground, trapping my leg underneath itself.

So heavy; perhaps this is what it felt like to him every time the little boy I used to be nagged him into carrying me upon his back.

He has his eyes closed---

Perhaps I should close mine too; but even it is a very menial task, I have not the strength to do so.

---and his face seems to me the most peaceful I have ever seen.

Very unlike THEIR faces after he killed them.

I don't know if I should breathe a sigh of relief.

I finally killed him, finally avenged my clan, finally achieved my dream.

Or scream in anger.

YOU KILLED THEM! YOU KILLED THEM! I WILL KILL YOU TWICE!

Or even let the tears fall.

You are, after all, still my big brother.

So I just lift a hand---

It is a wonder that I even had the will to do it.

---and rest it on his back---

You do not look so strong now, do you?

I feel kinda guilty because I hated him at first. *sob* And then Kishimoto Masashi comes round with the bigUchihapicture and…tadah! Itachi was good after all.
