First Flight

Heierlark AFB 12:00 Southern Belka

It was warm. A perfect climate. Nathan looked the horizon trough the bus window, bored. It was his first day of training, since he signed up in the millitary.
The bus stopped by the base, and the base commander walked in.

'' Welcome for your graduate training, kids! you will spend most of your hours in the crew quarters, than in the air. Follow me for the directions. '' He said.

All of the people followed the commander trough the base, with many people watching them with serious faces.
The base looked very small to Nathan. Considering the other ones that he saw near Oured. They entered a room,
full of cadets. Everyone splitted up for their rooms. Nathan stayed in the couch, watching two other people making fun of the flight instructor.

'' Did you see how Joe chickened out of the flight when the snowstorm cooked in? '' The first one laughed.

'' Yeah. He's afraid of a little snowstorm. '' The second one looked at Nathan. '' Hey kid, be prepared for a fancy flight tomorrow! ''

'' Okay... '' Nathan looked at them carefully

'' I'm Lucas Bristow. '' '' I'm Jason Carver. ''

'' I'm Nathan Greene. Nice to meet you two.. ''

They started to talk about their jet knowledge, the entire day.

Heierlark AFB Crew Quarters 9:00 South Belka

In the morning after the breakfeast, they walked for their training sortie. The issued jet was un-armed F-16 for each pilot. After they were in the air, the base crew set baloons around the base.
Nathan managed to control his jet in a very fast motion, with quick rolls.

His radio started to work.

'' Hey, kid, woah! you're really good with your movements. '' Jason said

'' Mad Dog , he looked sharp from the start. No wonder he can manage the jet that way. Its like its a part of his body. '' Lucas looked around the location.

'' Cut all the chatter, cadets. We better go down. It was a long target pratice. '' Joe, the instructor cut Lucas off, before he could say anything else.

They all landed, and stayed quiet trough all the evening. By 15:00, they heard about a squadron landing at base.
Nathan ran for the main entrance, watching the former pilots walking in. The 456th Tactical Fighter Squadron, '' Pandaren ''
The crew started the fireplace, and the squad started to tell stories. It was a long night.

Next day..
11:50 Briefing Room

The commander walked up for the front, and start cleaning his throat.

'' Gentlemen, today i will be forming a squadron. ''

Joe and Jason looked eachother, making evident they wanted to be in.

'' 503th Tactical Fighter Squadron, '' Frostbite. ''

The commander examined the room, carefully, waiting for a misconduct.
He picked four papers from a box, and started to announce the names.

'' Joe Bristow. '' '' Jason Carver. ''
'' Nathan Greene. ''
'' Anna Martinez. ''

The three, started a happy song, and didn't notice the girl on the background, taking notes.

'' Oh yeahh, there will be donuts for everyone tonight! '' Jason whispered happily for the others '' You will be assigned for Sand Island. Its a warm, tropical island, you will love it. '' The commander laughed. '' Everyone, dismissed. ''

They walked towards the crew quarters, and walked in their rooms.
Nathan, as always, put a Rock record on the stereo, and watched the outside silent.

'' Nathan. '' Jason looked towards Nathan. '' Anna, did you know she's a very good mechanic too? ''

'' Yeah yeah. I know. ''

'' Come on, dude, you're both support on the wing. '' Jason say, trying to piss him off.

'' Silence man, tomorrow we're going towards Sand Island. We could get bombed anytime there! its the frontline between the Yukes and us. '' Nathan walked tired for the bed, and started sleeping.

The others followed him. Tomorrow would be a long voyage.
