I lay on the ground in this cold icy cave with nothing but a dim fire to keep me warm, i can hear the sound of the rain pouring down from the sky like a waterfall sent down from the gods, every thing seems so peaceful until a loud crash of thunder booms through the cave with a flash of light followed directly after, my body fly's forward bringing my knees up to my chest. i look to my right where i expect to find Xena`s sleeping form but my eyes are meet by an empty bed roll. my body jerks as another crash of thunder fills my ears that's when i see her, she walks towards me out the shadows like a ghost walking through walls my eyes travel up her body until i meet her glowing blue eyes "Xena" my shaking hand moves towards her when another blow of thunder rips through my body causing my eyes to close shut, as i open my eyes again i find my own hands grasping a bow confused i look up but what i see next shocks me to my very core, blood dripping from Xena`s hands with an arrow shot deep into her chest. "Nooo!" i hear my self screaming as i look up into her blue eyes and before i know it her form crumbles away like ash in the wind
"GABRIELLE!"
Xena shakes her dreaming lover to try and wake her from the nightmare haunting her mind
"Nooo!"
Gabrielle screams again. Grabbing her by the shoulders Xena frantically shakes her friends shoulders, when her eyes burst open Xena pulls her up to her chest and starts to rock back and forth whilst stroking her hair
"Shhh It was just a dream"
Xena kept rocking until she felt the finger nails finally loosen their grip on her arm. Xena laid down onto the bed pulling Gabrielle with her carefully bringing her soul mates head to her chest.
"Its alright i got you"
With her hand entwined in the strawberry blond locks carefully massaging her head Xena felt Gabrielle relax into her body and within seconds they were both falling back into a deep sleep.
Gabrielle wakes up gasping for air
