The Boy McFee
Tell about the boy McFee
Beneath the angel bent on one knee
Never alone, never too far from the other
Is the boy McFee and his beloved younger brother
The boys lived on a lake
The hardest decision their mother had to make
She lived in the city and sent them all that she could
The boys missed their mother, things where not as they should
The boys wondered what their mother did in the city
Those who knew felt anger, sadness and pity
She sold her self day after day
She told the boys never to visit to stay way
Tell me about the boy McFee
Buried in Mt Pleasant cemetery
Beside his brother watched by the angel of stone
He was a protector, a hero his brother's own
The boys died one after the other
First the younger followed seven days by his brother
"I will protect you, always and forever." The boy McFee said.
"Nothing can harm you while I am here. Now close your eyes and go to bed."
The boys would play in the sun a top the Cheltnum hill
The wind was blowing bringing the autumn chill
Such a wind would not pull young boys from their fun
The boys would not leave until the sun was set and the day was done
Tell me about the boy McFee
He could not protect his brother from what he could not see
His brother became sick, deathly ill
From the fateful day upon Cheltnum hill
The boys laughed together all the next day
Until the younger was to sick to play
The boy stayed stead fast by his younger brother's side
He stayed, unmoving until his younger brother died
The boys where inseperable close as any two could be
To protect his brother was the duty of the boy Mcfee
To always guard him, was his promise to his mother
So seven days later he followed the path of his younger brother
Tell me about the boy Mcfee
Laid beside his brother for eternity
Never a lone, never too far from the other
Is the boy McFee and his beloved younger brother
