Enna's Loneliness

Enna breathed heavily as she made her way back from Doda's a bucket of coals in hand. She would have to reimburse Doda with chicken eggs next time she visited......

Maybe Enna could get Leifer to bring her chicken eggs over to Doda's when he got home... home. Enna wasn't quite sure where that was anymore. She used to feel at home here, safe in the forest with her ma and Leifer, but then Enna left for three years to tend the king's animals, and for a while that seemed like home, with Isi and all of her animal worker-friends. But then she left her friends when her ma died, coming home to take care of her forest house and Leifer. Enna just got so lonely sometimes, it was hard to not run back to her fellow animal workers, and Isi.

But then Enna remembered. Isi was queen. Enna sighed. But at least she still had Finn. The thought made her smile.

Fin watched through the window of Enna's forest home as she tended the fire. Enna was the main reason Finn stayed in the forest, to take care of her. Although Finn doubted Enna would ever need his help with anything. Enna was strong, working to help support her family these past three years, just as Finn had been working to support his ma. And even though Enna would never admit it, he knew she sometimes missed Leifer. Finn sighed. He would have to fill in for him, for Leifer, whenever he left Enna again. Taking a breath, Finn started for Enna's door.
