Opening her eyes, Pearl realized she was standing in the center of one her room's waterfalls. The relaxing sound of running water filled her ears as she noticed she wasn't alone in there. All of her questions about when she got there vanished when the tall pink gem approached her. Trying to hold the tears, she let herself fall into Rose's big arms and feel her love once again.

"Rose" – she whispered.

"My Pearl" – The sound of Rose's sweet voice echoing in the room made a shiver run down the smaller gem's spine.

A few minutes later, Pearl gently slipped away from Rose's embrace to admire her beautiful face.

"You look… sad. Are you okay? Did something happen?" – Already imagining disaster scenarios and starting to panic like she usually did, Pearl held Rose's hands, unable to hide her concern for her beloved.

"I'm starting to think this war will cause us more harm than good." - She said, staring at the waterfalls so she wouldn't have to look Pearl in the eyes as she let out her deeper thoughts. "I'm afraid there won't be much left to save in this world if we go on."

Pearl dried the lonely tear running down that pink face she loved so deeply and, said, in one of her best moments of wisdom:

"My dear, if there's anything you taught me in all these years, is that every life is worth saving. It will not be easy to save this planet from Homeworld's intentions, and there will be a price to pay for this, but if in the end we can save at least one life from this place, it will be worth it"

Smiling, Rose looked in her eyes and pulled her closer, so their bodies would be completely in touch, and said:

"You sound just like me, my love"

Blushing, Pearl smiled back at her lover and felt proud of herself, for knowing exactly what to say. All she ever wanted was for Rose to be happy, loved. She made her feel like she was everything, and wanted her to feel the same way. Rose held Pearl's face with both her hands and gave her a soft yet passionate kiss. They stayed holding each other close in perfect harmony for a few seconds.

"Dance with me" – Said Rose, ending the peaceful silence surrounding them. Knowing exactly what she meant, Pearl's gem glowed with happiness and exasperation. Holding hands, they slowly moved around on top of the waterfall, dancing to the sound of a music only their hearts knew, so gently and graciously that anyone who'd seen it could've swore they're were floating. And then it happened, they were one. A spectrum of light filled Pearl's room completely and Rainbow Quartz appeared, the pure expression of their love. Somewhere inside her Pearl's mind started drifting apart, as she heard Steven's voice coming from far away.

"Pearl? Pearl! Wake up, it's mission time!"

Getting up abruptly, Pearl realized she was back on the living room couch, with her hair looking like a real mess and Steven staring at her.

"Were you trying to dream again?" – He asked.

"What? No, I-I was just meditating."

"Yeah, right!" – Amethyst's voice brought her to reality completely. Making a real effort to hold her tears, she walked towards the warp pad and said nervously:

"Okay, let's go, no time to waste."

And so they went.
