It had been a long 20 hours. From getting a patronus while he was at work, to having a finger broken by his wife. At least she fixed it. All of the worry and lack of sleep had been worth it, because she was finally here. Rose Molly-Jean Weasley. Practically bald and still very pink, but he knew she'd be a beauty like her mother. Gods, Hermione had been so amazing. As soon as the Healer mentioned the labor going on into the morning, she bore down and pushed the baby out. There was no way Hermione would let some Healer tell her when her baby would come into the world. A tear slid down his face and landed on the purple blanket. Rose's eyes opened and looked up at her daddy. "Hello, Rose. I love you so much, did you know that?" He sniffled, trying to hold back the tears. There was a shuffling on the bed. "Ron? Is everything okay? Why are you crying, love?" He swiped at his cheeks. "M'fine. Just can't believe it." Hermione sat up against the pillows. "Can't believe what?" He stroked a finger down his daughter's soft cheek. "That we have a daughter. That she's finally here. That you punched a Healer. That the world is safe for her. Take your pick." There was silence for a moment, while wife let husband calm his emotions. Wasn't it she who said he had only had the emotional range of a teaspoon? How wrong she'd been. "If we're going to be fair, can we at least mention that I didn't object to a Healer coaching me in labor, I objected to a man my own age telling me I was overreacting and having a baby couldn't possibly hurt that much?" Ron barked out a laugh. Rose started wiggling, and was soon crying out. "Shh, darling. Daddy's sorry. You're alright. Are you hungry, Princess?" Hermione held her arms out, and was passed the baby. She shifted her hospital gown, let the baby latch onto her breast and winced. "Are you okay, 'Mione?" She shot her husband a smile. "I'm alright, she just eats like her dad is all." Ron looked at his girls, and was filled with so much love and pride. Every argument, every fight, everything led to this perfect moment.
