Final Breath.
It was cold. So cold. Then again October in Scotland always is. Her fingers where numb and she was pretty sure her lips where turning blue. Her wild blonde hair whipped in front of her face, she pulled her cardigan closer around her trembling body, she sat staring out at the icy stillness of the black lake. The moon was starting to reflect over the rippling water. Blowing out a breath she watched it fog upwards in a beautiful swirl, it reminded her of a phoenix. She would have to leave soon, it made her sad to think about. She would miss this place, her memories, her professors, her peers, her friends. Her love.
They never should have died, it wasn't fair. But then again, Luna Lovegood new unfair like an old friend. Unfair was watching your mother die in front of your eyes at the tender age of 8. Unfair is watching your father loose the other part of his soul. Unfair is being bullied for being different. Unfair is falling in love only to have that love cruelly ripped away from you.
She could feel the tears falling, creating hot, burning tracks down her cheeks to her chin. She can still hear his laugh, see his smile. She could feel the bubble of a sob building up in the back of her throat and lodging there, choking her on her misery. She swallowed past it and thought of him.
Fred. Fred Weasley. No one knew of their relationship, they kept it secret until after the war. Where Fred had promised as soon as he could he would get on one knee and ask her to be Mrs Weasley. They had parted ways with a quick heated kiss; neither realising it would be there last. She was never told who had killed him; all she had been told was that his last words had been her name. She had cried for days, weeks, and months it felt like.
She was alone, her jokester, her sun, her Fred was gone and she couldn't cope. Standing, she walked to the lakes edge. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath and kept walking. The water was cold, freezing the blood within her very viens. It wasn't long before she was completely under, her hair taking on a life of its own as it floated serenely around her. Her body started to struggle but finally her mind was at peace. She would see him again, feel him again, be with him again. As her eyes closed and her heart stopped…finally, there was her jokester once more.
