Hi everyone!
This is just another short random J/G piece.
xoxoxo
It was the end of the day in the Torchwood Hub. As usual, Owen was the first out of the door, followed by Ianto and Toshiko. Jack came down into the main area of the Hub, and was surprised to find Gwen still at her station, staring up at her screen.
"Hey Gwen."
She turned and smiled slightly when she saw him.
"Hello, Jack. I'll get out of your hair in a bit, I'm almost done."
"There's no rush. For you to go. Or for you to finish."
As she turned back to her screen, Jack noticed a tear run down her face. He turned her back to face him, and she buried her face in his shirt. Jack pulled her close and held her until she calmed down, before taking her hand and leading her to the R&R area. They sat on the sofa, Gwen snuggled into Jack's chest, smiling a little at his warmth.
"Now, tell me what's wrong."
"It's….silly, really…"
"Tell me. Tell your Jack."
She smiled at the way he was like a child with her.
"Rhys is on a night shift…but this morning, we had an argument. About the colour of curtains of all things!" She laughed slightly. "We're picking out curtains for the front room. He said red, I said plum, he said red was plum, I said plum was purple…you can imagine."
Jack grinned, pulling her closer.
"Well, plum is purple."
Gwen laughed.
"Why can't all men be like you?"
"What, tall and devilishly handsome?" Jack grinned.
Gwen giggled.
"Good with interior design."
Jack smiled, playing with her fingers. They were silent for a while, just enjoying each other's company. Jack loved moments like this with Gwen, even if they were few and far between.
"Will you stay a while?"
Gwen looked up at Jack. He had changed. He was all sensitive, not his usual confident self.
"Of course I will, if you want me to."
Jack smiled, burying his face in her hair. Gwen loved the way he was with her.
"Every time you leave me, I die inside, Gwen."
She looked up, staring into his eyes.
"Jack, wh-"
"Every time we say goodbye, I wonder why. I wonder why I have to let you go back to Rhys."
He kissed the top of her head.
"When I'm around you, I feel so happy…happier than I've ever been. But, when you go, I feel so alone."
Gwen shifted a little, but didn't move from her place in his lap.
"Please, Gwen, say you'll never leave me."
"Jack, I…"
Jack silenced her by placing a light kiss on her lips.
"Please, stay."
Gwen swallowed.
"I'm not going anywhere."
Jack grinned, kissing her again. They were in love.
