Hearing any other way was simply put to rest,
So many good people, not even given a place,
Person after person, judged because of their race,
The color of their skin, they way they think,
Hatred has driven these people to the brink,
Why can't anyone begin to understand,
Why can't everyone just join their hands,
And try to love every person who needs it,
And appreciate the diversity,
And the change,
And the way of life,
And the beliefs exchanged,
No matter the choice of husband or wife,
And the color of skin,
Or the reasons why,
Or the secrets held in,
So that nobody ever has to cry,
And understand that white doesn't have to be the only way.
