[Hi everyone, it's Keyslinger09 again. In case anyone asks, this is a mix of an idea I had for a previous story I had written (that being characters) and an idea for a Kingdom Hearts IV story I came up with a while ago.
I know that I have a number of stories up already, and its taking a while for me to update them, but I couldn't help it, whenever I have a new idea, I practically NEED to write it down. Don't worry though, the other stories will go on, that I promise.
Any-who (I think that's a phrase), let's get started.]
The giant heartless bellowed, the roar causing the realm to shake violently. This caused Kairi to momentarily become unbalanced, resulting in the heartless to swipe its arm at her. Kairi was able to see the attack coming, prompting her to leap high into the air.
As she did so, she coated her Keyblade with an aura of light, giving it extra strength. She then spun herself around horizontally, making her look like a tornado as she moved with great speed. She then launched at the beast, creating a strong flash of light as she impacted with incredible force.
Unfortunately, the attack didn't even leave a mark.
She jumped back into the air and landed on the ground with a backward roll. She held up her weapon in defense, readying herself for what else might come.
"Sorry, but I'm going to win this fight." She said with a smile. Shockingly, there wasn't much that could get her down for long. She then morphed her smile into a gritty frown as she rushed forward, hoping to strike the creature in the eye.
However, before she could, a blur of dark energy shot past her and penetrated the beast in the center of its head, causing a mass of dark energy to flow from the wound. Kairi was surprised by this, allowing herself to fall back to the ground. She watched as the shadow flew around the air for a few seconds before it landed directly in front of her.
She back-stepped quickly in response, holding up her Keyblade in defense once again. The dark energy stayed in the one spot for a moment before it began to ripple. As it did so, it also started to take a different shape. It slowly took on a humanoid form, arms, legs, a human head, the works. The shade quickly changed into a giant oval shape, causing Kairi to jump with fright, then fading away completely to reveal what was hidden within.
Kairi looked with widened eyes at the new figure, having difficulty forming words as she soon discovered as she tried to speak.
"It's… it's you." Kairi managed to say.

The ocean was quite calm today. The sound of the waves flowing in and out was perhaps one of the most soothing sounds to hear. Unfortunately, this was often over-looked, as the islands inhabitants had a lot to do, so they would be kept so busy with things like, school, work, etc.
However, one girl was sitting by the seaside, taking it in as she sat on the sand, doing some sketching.
This girl had auburn hair that reached down as far as the bottom of her ribcage. She had slightly pale skin, ocean blue eyes and a peaceful expression. Currently, she was wearing a white button shirt, a blue tie and a blue skirt, all part of a school uniform. She had socks and brown shoes, but they were lying beside her as she let her bare feet enjoy the feeling of the sand.
"Hmm… hm, hmm." She hummed to herself. She would often hum different songs to herself as she drew.
As she focused on the drawing, someone slowly came up behind her. This person quickly covered her eyes with their hands. Kairi would've flinched, had she not already known who it was.
"Guess who, Kairi." The person said with a cheerful tone of voice.
"Umm… Riku?" the girl asked sarcastically.
The figure laughed and removed their hands. The girl now known as Kairi looked behind her and saw a boy around her height, spiky brown hair, tanned skin and the same shade of blue eyes as the girl. He wore a red and black jacket hoodie, long sport shorts and black and yellow sneakers.
"Very funny Kairi." The boy said.
"Thought so." She replied. She then went back to her drawing. The boy looked with intrigue at the drawing.
"What are you drawing?" he asked.
"Come on, Sora, you should be able to see it off the bat." Kairi said.
"Hey, I'm not an artist, alright?" the boy now known as Sora said.
Kairi giggled at him. She held up the sketchpad, revealing a detailed drawing of her and Sora sitting on a tree holding hands. Sora looked at the drawing, realizing what it was and blushing for not figuring out what it was sooner.
"Uh…" Sora said.
Kairi shook her head at him, another small giggle escaping her mouth. "You really are something." She said.
Sora straightened himself up and smiled proudly. "I take that as a compliment." He said proudly, prompting another giggle from the crimson-haired girl. When she went back to her drawing, Sora saw an opportunity. Waiting a few seconds, he knelt down and , with his hands up next to his face, readied himself for his task. As Kairi reached for a coloring pencil, Sora quickly took to sketchpad. Annoyed by this, Kairi turned around and glared at Sora.
"Hey! Give that back!" she said loudly, but not too seriously.
"Come and get it." Sora responded.
With that, Kairi was on her feet and giving chase to the spiky-haired boy. It only took about eleven seconds to get close, trip him over and knock him onto the ground. Unfortunately, see lost her balance and fell down with him. Both of them lying on the ground, they laughed until they ran out of breath.
They looked up at the sky, taking in how peaceful it looked. For a long time, they had been forced to go up against perilous dangers. Over time, neither were sure if it would ever come to an end. But, in the end, they achieved victory. They saved countless lives, that of innocents from other worlds and that of their friends.
"Life sure has been crazy, huh?" Sora asked.
"Yeah." Kairi answered. She looked back at Sora with caring eyes. Turning on her side to face Sora, she placed a hand on his face and turned Sora's head towards her. The spiky-haired boy certainly had no objections. After a few seconds of taking in each other's faces, Kairi placed her forehead up against his. Both felt at peace, something they thought that they'd never find.
"I love you." They both said to each other simultaneously.
…..
Kairi slowly opened her eyes, meeting the ceiling of a dark room. Staying as still as stone for a few seconds, Kairi slowly lifted herself out of the bed. She got dressed slowly, choosing to wear a black button shirt, jeans and sandals. As she was about to walk out of the room, she caught her reflection in the mirror.
She was little thinner than before, having not eaten much for a while and only enough to sate her hunger when it came. Her skin was slightly paler than usual and she had dark circles under her eyes, signalling that she hadn't slept for a while. She placed a hand on the side of her face, staring at the reflection for a moment longer before exiting the room.
She went downstairs and went into the kitchen. She went to a cupboard and took out a glass, filling it up with water from the sink. However, instead of drinking it, she sat on a stool and held it in her hands, simply staring at it.
"Kairi?"
Kairi heard the voice, but she didn't move. The source of the voice came into the kitchen. It was a man who was in his late forties, yet he still had a head full of silver hair, beard and moustache included. He wore a white dress-shirt, black blazer, pants and dress shoes. He looked like he was preparing for a meeting.
"Kairi, it's great to see you up." He said. He started to look worried after the girl still didn't talk. He sighed, seeing that she was still not talking to anyone. Ever since the… incident, it was like she was broken inside. She was right to be, however, since after what had happened.
"I'm heading off for a meeting, do you want me to get you something on the way back?" he said.
He was still met with silence. In the end, he decided to just head out the door. "See you later, honey." He said.
As exited the house and closed the door, Kairi was still motionless. All she did was continue to look into the water, her head filled with turmoil. The only action that she had taken was of a single tear coming out of her right eye, which landed in the water and caused the surface to ripple. As she stared into the water, one name had constantly gone through her head.
"Sora…"
…..
As Kairi's father walked down towards where he was due to have the meeting, he still couldn't get his mind off of what was happening to his daughter. She had been like that after she had returned from an extremely dangerous journey. Their home, no, their world was one of many that was under threat from a dangerous man with the same abilities as them. After years of fighting, their fate was ultimately decided in a war. Seven warriors of light against thirteen darkness's. Kairi, along with six other warriors, stood up against this man and his twelve followers and defeated him before he could cause more damage.
This much he had gotten from her friend Riku, who was obviously scarred by what had happened as much as his daughter, but he chose not to let it show for the sake of those he knew. He didn't know how Riku could do it, seeing how Kairi was suffering.
And then there was Sora…
He stopped abruptly. He looked towards a certain direction, more specifically the direction in which the latter boy lived. He hadn't seen his parents since all their kids had returned, mainly because Sora's parents were also in a bad way. Taking in a deep breath, he made his way over said house.
He made his way over to the front door. If he had to be honest, he was a little nervous about talking to them in case he said something insensitive. He gently knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer the door. After a few seconds, the door clicked open and revealed a man with short brown hair, blue eyes which were grey underneath and a five o clock shadow. The man looked like he hadn't eaten or slept for a while.
"Oh, Mr. Mayor. I didn't, I…" the man said.
"Please, there's no need for formalities." The mayor replied. Giving him a look of empathy, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "I just wanted to see how you're doing Rai."
The main now known as Rai was silent for a moment. He then smiled at the mayor and nodded. "Thank you, Kasai." He replied.
The two men stayed silent for a moment before Rai broke the silence. "If it's alright to ask… how's he doing?"
Rai's face turned to one of defeat as he knew who the mayor was referring to. "Not good. He's getting weaker every day. I don't know…" a lone tear emerged from his eye and rolled down his face. "Why did this happen? Why did this have to happen?"
The Mayor felt a sharp pain go through him as he saw how much pain his friend was in. Rai recovered and looked his friend in the eye. "Would you like to come in and see him?"
The mayor nodded, deciding to put off the work he was meant to do for the time being. This was far too important. "Yes, thank you." He said. The two men entered the house. As they did, they went up to the second level and Rai lead the mayor to the door of one of the rooms. Rai knocked on the door.
"Come in." came a feminine voice from within the room.
Rai opened the door. It was revealed to be a bedroom, with a teenage boy lying on the bed. He had spiky brown hair, blue eyes and had a faint smile. He was currently as pale as a sheet, a water basin resting on the nightstand on the right side of his bed. Sitting beside him was a woman with long, dark brown hair and green eyes. She looked at the men, revealing red, swollen eyes that gave away that she had been crying.
"How's are you doing?" Rai asked the boy.
"Meh. I've been worse." He said humorously. Despite his condition, the boy hadn't lost his sense of humor.
The Mayor couldn't help but smile at the boy. "It's good to see you haven't lost you're spirit, Sora."
Sora smiled back at the mayor. "Did you think that something like this can bring me down? Come on, I thought you'd have a little more… a little more…" before he finished talking, he started coughing slightly. This cause all the adults in the room to suddenly panic. The coughing finished after only a second, so when Sora saw them starting to panic, he held up a hand to signal that he was fine.
"Relax, would you?" Sora said with a smirk.
"I… I…" Sora's mother said.
Sora saw his mother's worry and placed a hand over one of hers. "Don't worry. Things are going to be alright." He then yawned and stretched his neck muscles. "Right, I'm going to get some sleep. We'll talk later, okay?"
After that, Sora slowly closed his eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep. When they were all sure that he was asleep, His mother looked at the men and, with a solemn expression, slowly shook her head. Rai gritted his teeth and the Mayor looked on at the boy with concern.
"Please God, there must be a way."
…..
In a realm different to their own, a realm made of nothing but darkness, lived swarm after swarm of creatures of darkness.
The Heartless.
A while ago, these creatures had invaded the realm of light after a being let in through a prtal opened by one who wished to upset the balance. After his defeat, these creatures had returned to where they belonged. These days, they had nothing more to do than scamper where they can, hunting for other creatures to battle.
Within the darkness, one of the creatures, a shadow hearless, was moving with great speed, sensing a great power up ahead. The creature didn't have any proper senses, otherwise it wouldn't be going straight towards a power that was capable of obliterating it. All that concerned it was that it was a possible source of energy.
When the creature came to a stop, it looked around frantically, hoping to find the power before any of the other creatures did. It could feel an overwhelming strength surging through the air, getting closer to it by the second.
"Behind you."
(Music: Trivium- The Ghost that's haunting you)
The creature whirled around and saw… something completely unexpected.
Standing where the great power should be was a boy around 17 years old, silver spiky hair that mostly pointed backwards while the spikes on his fringe hung over eyes that glowed with a shade of amethyst. He wore tattered black cloak that had a hood, which covered a black jacket, crimson t-shirt, blue slacks and black sneakers.
His right hand was enveloped in a black flame, which was held up close to his face. Smirking at the creature, he rushed forward and punched the creature with the flaming fist, obliterating it entirely. As he did, he sensed some more creatures behind him. He turned and saw the older brother of the Shadow Heartless, the Neoshodaws, fifty of them no less. While many would quiver at the sight of this, the boy took this in his stride and dashed forward. The flames covering his hand expanded and began to take on a different shape.
It quickly morphed into the shape of a monstrous claw, which mowed down a little more than Thirty in one swipe. Grinning at the remaining Heartless, he shot out his free hand and fired more dark flames, a large pillar of it launching and erasing most of what was left from existence. When the flames faded, it was revealed that one managed to evade the blast.
"You're one of the clever ones. Aren't you?" he said. He summoned the dark flames once more, only this time he allowed the flames to engulf his body entirely. Sensing a further increase in power, the Heartless jumped forward. In response, the boy emerged from the flames, now wearing a head of black hair, indigo eyes, to which the whites were now black, and two pairs of fangs where his canines should've been.
His hands were now coated in light purples flames, which he wielded like a pair of boxing gloves as he slammed one of his fists into the ground, destroying it completely and leaving nothing but a crater. However, the Heartless had just managed to evade that attack as well. Before it could move again, however, the boy vanished and reappeared behind the Heartless.
The boy grabbed the back of its head with one of his hands and allowed the flames to dance across its body, slowly burning it to nothing. The creature flailed around, the feeling of pain becoming much more apparent to it now. The boy hen, without warning, clenched the hand into a fist, crushing the creatures head into black smoke. As it moved through the air, it slowly made its way into the centre of the boy's palm.
"Aaaahh… Lovely stuff." He said.
(Music end)
He allowed the dark energy to seep into his skin. As it did, he felt his power increase slightly. When he was finished, he sat on the ground cross legged and reverted to his original form. He ignited the tip of his index finger with the black flame and waved it around lazily.
"Well… now I'm bored again." He held the flames close to his face and stared into the flames. "Maybe I should've hitched a ride with the other creatures when that portal opened. Where did it even lead to?"
He extinguished the flame and stood back up, making his way in a random direction. One of the many things he disliked about this realm was that there was very little places to go and do, it was just an empty void.
"Come on. Is there anything else to do here? Is this all I'm good for?" he grumbled to himself.
As if to respond, the entire surface he was walking on began to shake. The force became stronger by the second, forcing the young man to kneel and grip the ground as hard as he could. After twenty seconds, the earthquake slowly came to a stop. When it had finally halted, he slowly got back onto his feet and looked around.
He couldn't help but grin in response to what he had happened.
"Well, that's new."
…..
Back in the realm of light, in a world entirely different to that of the island where Kairi, her father and everyone else lived, stood a yellow tower with a blue, cone shaped roof. Within the tower, more specifically the top floor, was a small chamber. In the center of the room sat an old wizard who wore blue robes and a pointed hat decorated with pictures of crescent moons and stars. He had black eyes, a large nose and a long, grey beard.
The wizard was currently meditating in his chair, focusing and maintaining his magical ability. However, it was also to help control his own, recently arisen temper. A month ago, a great battle between Guardians of light and Seekers of Darkness occurred, a battle that would affect the fate of the universe depending on who had won.
Each warrior wielded a key-shaped sword known as the 'Keyblade', a mystical weapon based off of the very weapon the Seekers of Darkness were hoping to create from that battle, the 'X-Blade'. The counter part of the source of all light in the realm of light.
Kingdom Hearts
Originally, it had faded into the realm of Darkness, but when the Seekers managed to obtain the blade, they used it to bring forth the divine power. They would've caused the whole universe to fall into darkness if one of the Guardians of Light intercepted them and used the power of that weapon to overpower the Seekers and save the universe.
However, as a cost of this, said Guardian's heart, body and soul was corrupted with too much darkness. Instead of changing his alignment, as he had become more than strong enough to resist the temptation of the dark, it is now slowly consuming him. As of now, the wizard wasn't sure of what would happen to him. He tried to come up with a solution to save him, but none were successful.
He was brought out of his meditation when he heard a knock on the door. He slowly opened his eyes and looked directly at the door.
"Come in." he said with an old and assertive tone.
The door slowly opened, revealing a young man around the age of eighteen. He had short, spiky sliver hair, light blue eyes and was well tanned. He wore a black, short-sleeved hoodie, a white t-shirt, blue long shorts and black boots. His expression was incredibly serious.
"Master Yen Sid." The young man said.
"Riku. I'm surprised to see you here." The wizard now known as Yen Sid said.
Riku entered the room and closed the door behind him. He walked over to where the old wizard sat. "I came here to see if you found anything to help Sora. Any Luck?"
The wizard slowly shook his head. This caused Riku to grit his teeth and anger to appear in his eyes. He calmed down a few seconds later and sighed. "I see. Thank you for trying, all the same."
Riku was about to turn and leave when Yen Sid held up a hand, causing him to stop.
"Riku. Please, sit." The wizard said. With a wave of his hand, an armchair appeared to Riku's right. Not wanting to be rude in front of the wizard, Riku sat down in the chair. Yen Sid waved his hand again and a cup of coffee appeared in front of Riku. The silver haired youth nodded in gratitude and took the cup.
"Tell me, Riku. How are you feeling." The wizard asked him.
"… To be honest… I've been better." Riku answered.
"I know how difficult it is. I know he is your friend and it's difficult to see him struggling."
"It's not just Sora." Riku said.
This surprised the wizard.
"Kairi. She's been taking it harder than anyone else. She rarely eats and she only sleeps when she's on her last legs. We need to find a way to help Sora, not just for his sake, but for everyone else. I don't think they can take much more."
Riku's face was now filled with great concern. He gripped the cup so hard that he accidentally shattered it, spilling both coffee and pieces of the cup onto the ground. "I'm-I'm sorry."
Won't worry Riku." Yen Sid said, motioning for Riku to stop. With the click of his fingers, the wizard made the mess vanish.
Before either could say anything else, there was a sudden earthquake. It lasted for a few seconds before slowly coming to a stop. Riku and Yen Sid looked at each other with bewildered expressions.
"Did you…?" Riku started.
"No, I don't know what caused it." Yen Sid said.
A split second later, a bright light suddenly shun directly in front of the door. Both of them shot up from their seats, Riku summoning a Keyblade of his own. His had a black guard and had a broad blade with jagged edges. Riku took a battle stance and glared at the portal, ready to attack whoever came through.
His readiness for a fight was proven to have been for naught, however, as it was Kairi who came through the portal. As soon as she did, the girl collapsed to the ground. Riku's attitude quickly changed to fear and concern to his friend. He rushed over to her and knelt down beside her.
"Kairi! What are you doing here!? You're not strong enough for that now!" Riku barked.
Kairi sat up and looked at her friend straight in the eye. "I had to. There's been an earthquake in the Islands."
At this, Riku and Yen Sid looked at each other in surprise. Kairi was confused by this behavior.
"What's going on?" she asked.
"The tower was shaking rather violently just before you arrived." Yen Sid explained. "It seemed to have happened in your world at the same time."
"Why would that happen?" Riku asked.
Yen Sid was silent, trying to come up with an answer. However, he wasn't sure of what could've caused this.
"Go back to the Destiny Islands and make sure everything is alright." Yen Sid ordered Riku.
"Will do." Riku said. He stood up and pointed his Keyblade at the door, fired a beam of light at it and created a portal like the one that Kairi used to get to the tower. He hoisted Kairi up onto her feet and wrapped one of her arms around his shoulders. He quickly made his way through the portal.
Yen Sid closed his eyes and pondered on what could've caused the earthquake. This kind of thing had never happened before. If the same quake had occurred in both the Destiny Islands and here in the tower, then it could be possible that the same thing happened to all the worlds in the universe. Granted, it was only a possibility, but that doesn't mean that's not what happened either.
"What could've caused this?" he said out loud.
Before he could say any more, the door burst open, and three short, elderly ladies wearing red, green and blue outfits with pointed hats entered the room. They all carried wands and had fairy wings on their backs. They all looked greatly anxious.
The old wizard looked at the fairies with confusion. "What is the matter? Why did you all burst in so suddenly?"
The one in the blue dress spoke first. "Oh it's terrible. Some kind of rift has opened up in Twilight town!" she exclaimed.
The green-clad fairy spoke next. "It's releasing a large level of darkness and the rate is getting faster by the minute."
"We think that it's coming from the dark realm." The fairy in the red dress said.
Yen Sid's brow lowered after hearing this. If it was coming from the dark realm, then it explained how the quake affected both the tower and Riku and Kairi's home world. Also, it would mean that all the worlds had felt it as well.
What makes matters worse… what could be strong enough to breach the realm of light so quickly. The last time he checked, only Xehanort was able to accomplish such a feet.
His train of though was interrupted when another earthquake commenced. This caused all in the room to pale.
The fairy in the green dress flew in the air for a few seconds before speaking. "Oh dear! I think that was another one!" she cried.
Yen Sid was close to growling in anger at this point. He couldn't understand what was going on.
"What is causing all this!?"
….
Riku and Kairi had instantly returned back to the Destiny Islands after passing through the portal. They were a lot more useful for fast travel than Keyblade Gliders, their Keyblades transformed in vehicles that best suited the wielder.
After arriving, Riku gently laid Kairi onto the ground. She didn't meet his gaze, but Riku wouldn't stop trying to make eye contact with the girl.
"Kairi. Look at me." He said.
Kairi still didn't meet his gaze. Riku was starting to get angry, but he had to hold it in. It wouldn't help for him to lose his temper. All he could do at this time was sigh before speaking.
"Look… Kairi… I know it's been hard. I know what you're going through. But you can't keep going on like this. Sora isn't dead yet, so don't act like there's no hope-"
Before Riku could finish, Kairi slapped him hard across the face. Slightly surprised, he looked back at Kairi, who was now meeting his gaze with a hateful stare. He could tell he had hit a sore spot, but he had to keep going.
"Don't think that that will stop me. Tell me. Do you thi-"
Before he could continue, another tremor commenced. At this, Riku was on high alert, readying his Keyblade. Kairi just simply looked around lazily, only half concentrating on what was going on.
A second later, a gust of wind so strong that it sounded like a howl blew by him, going towards the shore. He looked in that direction and was shocked by what he saw.
On the beach, a crack was forming in the sand. It expanded slowly and emitted a black smoke. Riku ran towards the crack, seeing clearly that the interior of the crack had swirling, dark purple energy within.
Riku took an involuntary step back as his eyes saw the energy, and he lost his breath as he felt the level of power emerging from within. In his distracted state, he didn't notice something emerging from the crack. He only saw it when it dashed right up to him and struck him hard in the face.
As he was knocked onto his back, he used the momentum of the fall to spin around and land on his feet in a crouched position. He got back up quickly and took a battle stance as he saw what had hit him. What he saw caused him to lose his breath.
"Heartless!?" he exclaimed.
Numerous Shadow and Neoshadow were right in front of him. Instead of moving about and taking in their surroundings, all were perfectly still and focused their gaze on the Keyblade wielder. Riku was well and truly confused, as they had never acted like this before.
"What is going on?" he asked himself.
As if to respond, the Heartless suddenly rushed at him, claws outstretched and ready to slice the Keyblade wielder. Riku saw them coming this time and began to slice each one that got close to him in half, eliminating each one in seconds.
But, as he destroyed one, at least five seemed to pop out of the fissure, making things all the more difficult for Riku.
"Oh COME ON! How many of these things are there!?" he roared.
Unknown to him, one of the Shadow Heartless appeared from beneath the ground behind him. Planning to take him by surprise, the creature was about to strike him in the back of the leg. Hpwever, before it could even get the chance, a new Keyblade appeared and sliced the creature down the middle from top to bottom.
The weapon had teeth shaped like a bundle of flowers, connected to a short and thin blade. The hand guard was shaped like a heart, one side blue with a wave sticking out while the other side remained normal. There was a keychain shaped like an orange star with two green leaves connected on either side. Seemingly harmless, but could do more than enough damage to any enemy, especially when in the hands of its current wielder.
Riku heard the sound of the creature being destroyed and turned, surprised to see that it was Kairi wielding the weapon.
"Kairi!?" he exclaimed in disbelief, surprised to see that she was able to fight at all.
Using this distraction as an advantage, several Neoshadows dashed towards him and tried to cut him down. However, Riku's senses were sharper than they thought, as well as his reflexes, so he was able to cut them down instead with great speed and strength.
He jumped backwards and landed right beside Kairi. He looked at the ill girl with great surprise. "So NOW you choose to start fighting again?" he asked.
"…" Kairi remained silent, much to Riku's annoyance.
Kairi dashed forward and proceeded to defeat as many of the Heartless as she possibly could. However, because she was weaker than before, she was struggling greatly.
"Sora… got hurt trying… to get rid of these things…" she thought. "Trying to stop the man who caused all of our pain…"
She continued to fight, not willing to give up even though her muscles were screaming at her to stop. She gritted her teeth as she saw more emerging from the cracks.
"I won't… let his efforts… be for nothing." She weakly said.
However, before she could fight anymore, Riku got in front of her, pointing his Keyblade at the Heartless and built up a mass of electric energy.
"THUNDER!" he roared. A large, powerful bolt of lightning shot out from the weapon and obliterated the Heartless in front of them.
That attack, however, proved to be for nought, as more Heartless were arising from the fissure to further replace the ones that fell. Riku gritted his teeth and glared at the monsters.
"You've got to be kidding me." He muttered.
He was about to move, when out of the blue, he heard someone laughing somewhere on his left. He looked and saw someone standing there, laughing and clapping at the Keyblade wielder.
"Bravo. BRAVO!" he exclaimed. "I have never seen such a spectacular show."
Riku eyed the figure curiously. It was a man that couldn't have been taller than four feet, sporting a Shakespeare-style haircut, goatee and a blue matador's outfit with golden lining in the jacket. To say that he looked peculiar would be an understatement.
"Who… who are you?" Riku asked.
The figure brushed back some of his hair and grinned. "My, My. Surprised by me stunning looks? Many would be." He said proudly.
"… I'm sure they would be… 'stunned'." Riku managed to say.
The figure sighed. "But alas… I cannot indulge in this fine spectacle forever. It is time to get to business."
Kairi looked at the figure and glared hatefully at him. "What business is that?" she asked.
The figure suddenly vanished and reappeared behind Riku, palm striking him in his lower back, causing him to grunt in pain and collapse to the ground.
Kairi gasped as she saw her friend beaten so easily. He then turned to Kairi, his eyes filled with disgust and distain.
"To answer your question my dear… this world is now mine. It shall be my home for me and my pets to frolic in." he said while motioning towards the heartless.
At this, Kairi's fist tightened. "You… you wouldn't dare." She said.
The Shakespearian figure clicked his fingers and summoned a Persian dagger from thin air, quickly placing the blade right up against her throat.
"Try me." he said, his tone now much darker than before.
"How about I try you?"
A black flame shot through the air and struck the dagger, knocking it out of the figure's hand and obliterating it. Kairi's eyes widened slightly while the figure clutched the wrist of his hand, which had scorch marks in various parts on it. A dark aura suddenly appeared around him and turned towards where the fire came from.
"WHO DID THAT!? YOU IS STUPID ENOUGH TO HURT… me…" he said, his tone weaker than before.
Kairi also looked to where the flame came from as well, seeing a black-haired youth with amethyst eyes, a throwing a ball of black fire up and down in his hand like a baseball. The boy smirked at the Shakespearian figure, who was now pale with fear after seeing the boy.
"K… Kage?" he asked.
"Been a while, hasn't it Louie?" the boy asked. He looked over towards the fissure and shook his head. He looked back at the man name Louie with a disappointed look. "Seriously? Invading the realm of light?" he threw the ball at the fissure. Upon contact, the ball exploded and engulfed the area the fissure was covering. When the flames faded, the fissure was gone.
"Oh no…" Louie managed to say.
The boy chuckled at Louie's fear and ignited both his hands with his dark flames.
"Now… for thinking you can take someone else's home… I'll be sure to teach you a proper lesson."
Wait… WHAT!? What's going on!? Sora's sick, Kairi's grief stricken and someone from the realm of darkness are trying to steal WORLDS!? :-(, and here I thought Xehanort was bad enough. Hope you all enjoyed this start to the new story. If anyone has anything to say, don't be afraid to say anything, good or bad, I'd appreciate the feedback. Well, talk to you later, hope you're all having a grand day.
Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, I forgot to say. See you later.
