Protector
a lone knight
a hectic fight
she glances down
from her horse and frowns
at the terrible, gruesome sight

this lone knight
awe and wonder she does invite
a moment in time
a moment fit for rhyme
oh my what a sight

her friends are beside
her ridding astride
on their mighty steeds
of noble breed
moving slowly against the tide
****
a weapon swings
the pain she brings
woe to those who get in her way,
for them the world turns grey,
as her battle cry rings

she lets her weapon fall
hears the dying call
knowing the fight
will be over by night
she watches over them all

Protector of one and all
Protector of large and small
a sense of fairness
and never careless
brings peace and prosperity to any hall
****
when there is darkness she sees light
all men envy her at first sight
a friend to one a friend to all
at one with herself, she stands tall
she is the protector of the small
****
some said a girl couldn't fight
some said a girl couldn't be a knight
shows what they know
she made them woe
oh my what a sight
****
she is the protector of us all
protector from the first call
she does what she needs to do
she will follow through
she is the protector of the small
