The church bell swung back and forth as the soft, melodic tune played through the skies. Inside the church, many people gathered to watch the great event unfold. The groom stood, waiting, peering down the aisle at his beautiful bride.
It's finally here, Vlad Masters eagerly thought to himself. The day has finally arrived…
His beautiful bride-to-be was the love of his life, his college sweetheart, Maddie Fenton. She seemed to float as she gracefully closed the distance between her fiancé. Vlad held his hand out to which she gently took and stepped beside him. As the preacher began the reception, Vlad could not help but look to his left and smile cheerfully. Danny Fenton, the ring bearer for the wedding, gave a thumbs-up to his soon-to-be father. Vlad glanced from Maddie to Danny and felt his heart leap with excitement. All of his dreams were finally coming true. As the preacher's words drew to a close, he faced his bride and raised his hands to her veil. His heart beat even faster as he slowly lifted the cover away from her delicate face. Though, he shrieked and jumped back. Instead of his beautiful bride, Maddie Fenton, Jack Fenton was the one in the dress with make up smeared on his face.
"Vladdie, my man!" he hollered happily, throwing his arms around Vlad. Vlad's screams echoed throughout the church and throughout the skies.
"Ahhhh!"
Quickly sitting up, Vlad panted as he looked around confusedly at his surroundings. He collapsed in his bed, shivering and shaking, when he realized he was safe in his room.
"It was only a dream… Only a dream…" he brought his legs up to his chest and rocked slightly, vainly attempting to persuade himself.
Or should I say only a nightmare?
