Author's Note: This is a sequel to Kristen3's wonderful story, "To Thaw a Frozen Heart," which in turn was a birthday story for XFilesFanatic, so I'm making this a belated birthday story for her too. I decided to split this up. The next chapter should be posted soon! Enjoy! :D
As soon as it got colder, Ella began to get excited. She would jump all day long, and ask complete strangers if they wanted to build a snowman. Daphne smiled at her daughter's enthusiasm. But she couldn't hide her frustration she felt at having watched Frozen in the first place. One day, she vented her fears to Roz at Nervosa. For Roz was the one who introduced them to the movie in the first place.
"Thanks a lot, Roz!" She said as they sat down with their drinks.
"Well, you're welcome, but for what? We just got here." Roz had a break from the station, which didn't happen often.
"For telling us about that Frozen movie. Thanks to you, Ella is insisting she build a snowman named Olaf when the first snow hits. But I hate to disappoint her, because she's going to find out that it won't last forever, like the real Olaf did. And it'll melt eventually too, unlike the movie, so I don't know how to prepare her for that."
"Well, when Alice watched it for the first time, she was of course enthusiastic about it too."
"Yes, but Alice is older. She can take these things better than a girl Ella's age."
"What does Niles think about it?"
"I haven't gone to him yet. He just thinks Ella's in a cute princess stage, which of course makes him just adore her more. He plays the prince to her princess a lot of times."
"You mean he plays Kristoff?" Roz couldn't help but giggle. She did see similarities between Niles and Kristoff.
Daphne shrugged. "Sometimes. I'll admit, it's fun playing princess with her, since I never got to do that meself. But she doesn't see there's another side to things, the things that don't last forever, and not all little girls grow up to be princesses."
"Well, why don't you just wait and see what happens when she builds the snowman? If you want, Alice and I can come over too."
Daphne smiled. "Thanks, but there's some things a parent has to do themselves. I'll let you know if I need you though."
Roz looked at her watch. She didn't realize it was almost time to go back. "I've got to run. You going to be ok?"
"Yes, I think so. Elsa did sing about letting things go, didn't she?" She smiled as she and Roz got up and threw their cups away and walked out of the café. What they didn't know, however, was that it was starting to snow, just as they were talking.
