They didn't look like Oliver Queen and Chloe Sullivan anymore.

Oliver's eyes had been so devoid of any emotion for so long, his patent smile erased, it was becoming harder to recognize him as the billionaire playboy and CEO he used to be. The closest he came to that self was when he was Green Arrow. It was easier to be a vigilante and hero than a grieving and lost soul.

Chloe's hair was longer and dyed a deep chestnut, blue contacts covered her vibrant green eyes. Like Oliver's, her eyes has also been empty for some time. She had changed the most; it had been necessary for her to plan to succeed and for her to keep Oliver safe. For a time, Chloe Sullivan had ceased to exist.

To the outside observer, they just looked like any normal couple on the street having a sweet, intimate moment. His arms wrapped completely around her small frame, and her face was buried in his chest. Anything could have occasioned the embrace.

Nobody was there to look deeper into the event, nobody knew the couple, nobody bothered them. No one was there to congratulate their reunion, to welcome them. More importantly, no one to force them apart.

Just them.

Their bodies trembled with fear, love, anxiety, excitement, anger, sorrow, and lost time. They both cried quiet tears, alternating between smiling and frowning, completely unsure of how they felt or how they should feel.

After not hearing each other's voices for so long, they couldn't stop their mouths from moving. He mumbled into her hair, she into his shirt, each into the other's hearts.

"Chloe. Chloe."

"I'm sorry, so, so sorry. I had to. I had to go. Oliver, I had to keep you safe."

"Don't ever leave me again."

"Never."

"I love you -"

"- so much. More than you'll ever know."

They stood on the street corner for hours, just holding each other. Sometimes they talked, sometimes they kissed. No one took any special interest in them; no one noticed when he took her by the hand and her arm wrapped around his as he led her home.

No one knew that Oliver and Chloe were back, but that was just fine with them. For now, they needed and wanted only each other, to make up for all the time they had lost.
