A/N: I honestly wrote this in about three minutes, lol. It's something that struck me the first time I watched Dean and Sam's conversation in Fresh Blood, when Sam is saying that Dean is acting the way he does when he's terrified. It's loosely connected to two other drabbles I've written, "Weary," and "Enough". It's not necessary to read those to understand this one, but I hope you will read them anyway. :)

Unafraid
Sam was right.
He was terrified.
He could hide it from just about everybody, even from himself sometimes…but not from Sam.
Sammy knew him too well.
But he didn't know everything.
Dean had been telling the truth when he said that he wasn't afraid of dying. He wasn't putting on a show about that. He was supposed to be dead already, and he felt like he'd died on the inside a long time ago. What was there to be afraid of?
Where he'd go after he died…that was a different story.
But the thing was, he wasn't as scared as he should be.
And that was the most terrifying thing of all.
