Set during Eclipse. What would happen if one of the Cullen members suddenly found themselves alone in the world?
The fire burned slowly erasing the remaining part of the battle. The ground was ripped apart in several places where the wolves had been fighting. The Cullens all stood around in a small circle holding each other tight and close. There was a snapping of twigs and two vampires ran out of the trees. Emmett let go of Rosalie and ran after them.
"No, Emmett, don't!" Rosalie yelled but was too late. There was a great ripping sound and then more snapping of branches. Rosalie ran to find her mate ripped to shreds on the ground and the vampires no where in sight. Rose knelt to the ground and ran a hand over the remains. There was nothing left to salvage. There was no way of bringing him back. Rosalie got up her eyes burning with venom and rage. How could anyone do this to him? How did he let this happen? He's so stupid, and stubborn, and amazing… Rosalie's thoughts were a jumbled mess that only Edward was apart of. The rest of the family caught up and Bella landed on the ground as Edward let her down. Jasper and Carlisle walked forward to survey the damage while Esme and Alice comforted Rose.
"There's nothing left to save. He's gone." Carlisle looked at Jasper who just nodded. Edward walked closer to Rosalie and spoke the words she never wanted to hear ever.
"Rose, I'm so sorry. We all should have paid more attention to the newborns." Edward tried to give his sister a hug but she ducked and turned away. Jasper took out a lighter and offered it to Rose she took it and numbly light the pile that was Emmett. As he went up in flames Bella walked forward towards the group. She hung her head and spoke quietly although for an all vampire group her words were unmistakably clear.
"This is all my fault. I should never have had you all involved. I should never have come here."
"Its okay no one blames you for what happened." Edward says taking hold of her hand.
"No Edward it's not alright. This is all of her fault. If she hadn't moved here, if you hadn't given in, if James would have just killed her… we all would have been just fine. But now Emmett's gone," she paused to get up and stand in front of Bella, "And it's all YOUR fault!" she spat these words at Bella and then ran off into the forest alone.
