A/N: Yes. This is also a gif drabble thing on my Tumblr. If anyone of you saw it there as well. But, fuck it, I kind of liked it and it worked just as well without the gifs so I'm posting it here too. I should update the rest of my stuff too… That will happen eventually, I promise.
"-done with this bullshit!"
Regulus heard the front door downstairs open and the fight, which had previously been muffled voices downstairs drifted up from the street through his open window.
"Disgrace upon the whole family-"
Regulus went to the window to shut it, not that it really helped, but it muffled the voices again slightly. He didn't want to listen to yet another fight. It had been like this for the past three weeks ever since he and Sirius had come home from Hogwarts. Almost every day the voices downstairs would get louder and louder and every time it would either end in Sirius leaving the house for hours or even days occasionally; or locking himself in his room and breaking things.
"See if I fucking come back this time!"
He hated it, having to listen to them fight like that. This was never going to be fixed. They were never going to be right again. He supposed he knew that from the moment that Sirius had been sorted. Why did that damn hat have to put him in Gryffindor? If he'd just been sorted into Slytherin none of this would have happened. He would have never met Potter and Lupin and Pettigrew, he wouldn't have fought so much, everything would have been OK…
The door slammed again and Regulus collapsed into his chair, burying his face in his hands.
Sirius would be back, eventually. Probably some time in the middle of the night he would hear him sneaking back upstairs, or he'd see him at the corner talking to that damn boy. Tomorrow he would ask Sirius if he was alright, Sirius would mumble something in reply and retreat back into his room, probably to write to one of his damn friends or something. Nothing was going to change, nothing as going to be fixed. He utterly loathed it, but he knew he was just going to have to accept it in order to keep what little illusion of family he still had.
