The First Snow.

As soon as Sandy saw the snow lying on the ground early on Monday morning her eyes widened and she ran out her room yelling. "Mommy! Mommy! It's snow outside!" She yelled and jumped up on her parent's bed. "Can I call Danny and see if he wants to play with me? Please!" Sandy begged and did her puppy dog eyes.

As her dad picked she laughed at his tickling fingers. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind, surprised he hasn't called already!" He said and let her down and watched as she ran out and down the stairs.

Picking up the phone Sandy punched in the familiar number and was almost bouncing on the spot as she waited for someone to pick it up. "Hello?" A voice said. "Hello Vicky, can I please talk to Danny?" Sandy asked and bit her lip as she waited. "Ok." She heard before a loud yell for Danny.

After a while she heard someone picking up the phone again. "Hello!" Danny said loudly through the phone. A big grin spread on Sandy's face and then the two started to plan the day.

A short half hour later both five years old was running out the front door with their hats and gloves on of course. "Danny!" Sandy yelled at the same time as Danny yelled her name. "What do you wanna make first?! I wanna make a snow horse first and then a snowman!" Danny said exited. The snow was falling down softly now and there was a little glimpse off the sun in the sky.

"Snow horsie first okay?" Sandy said and took Danny's hand as they crossed the street and walked towards the big field. "Okay. But then we will make a big snowman right?" Danny asked and Sandy nodded.

__

"Danny!" Sandy whined and pouted as she looked at him. He turned towards her. His hair was lying wet all over, having lost his hat a few hours ago and it had been soaked already. Sandy raised her hands in the air before she threw her wet gloves at him. "I want to go inside now." She said and pushed her hat up a little so that it wasn't covering her eyes anymore.

"But, but we aren't finished with the castle yet!" He said shocked and looked at as she was crazy for already wanting to go inside. "Dan I'm all wet and cold. I just want to go inside!" She whined. "We have been out here for hours now; don't you want to drink some hot chocolate with me while watching TV?" Sandy asked and looked at her with her puppy dog eyes.

The twenty-two year old looked between her and the castle. A look off struggle showed on his face causing Sandy to sigh. Every year they had this conversation. Finally Dan rested his gaze on Sandy. "Fine, I'll just get Dougie to help me finish it tomorrow." He said and grinned throwing the wet gloves back at Sandy.

He walked over to her and laid his hand around her shoulder and pulled her close. Sighing happily he smiled. "There is nothing like the first snow in the winter!" He said and couldn't stop grinning. Walking inside they got off the wet clothes and hung them up for dry. Sandy went upstairs to get something comfy on as Danny made the hot chocolate.

Not after long the two met up on the couch and Sandy cuddled up to him, trying to steal as much warmth from his as possible. Danny stretched for the blanket lying nearby and wrapped it around them both. Smiling Sandy looked up at Danny. "I love you." She said simply. Smiling Dan bent down and gave her a good kiss on the mouth. "I love you too." He said gently and started to stroke her hair as he rested against the couch.

THE END.
