Gently Destiny

Morning comes…

Awake, thine eyes, to the brightening sun,

For with this day comes fortune and despair.

Thine own lover would rather have another,

But with this fate, thy destiny revealed:

He was not the one thou sought,

But the preview, for the one who will not

Be fought,

By the gentle push of no and nay.

He is the one who will truly stay.

With love that is gentle, deep and true,

His arms shall come to carry you

Away from the dark, into the light,

He shall keep you safe throughout the night.

The muses nine so say it be,

For they control thine destiny.

They sing of love and might so true

To rid the world of hearts so blue.

So, gentle maiden, do not cry nor weep,

Keep looking up for the one you seek.

The one with gentle love so true,

Who shall come to comfort you.

I am the muse of love, song, poetry,

And as I say, so shall it be.

Morning and afternoon fade away,

In comes night to replace the day.
