Anguish.
Desperation.
Pain. So much pain.
"Percy!..."
Muffled pounding.
Chest heaving.
Heavy breathing.
"Percy! Just let me in!"
Percy tried to stumble over to the door, blinking back unshed tears. Unable to withstand the crushing agony, he toppled over and fell to his knees. It hurt; everything hurt..
"Percy!" The pounding increased, but it only caused his ears to start ringing persistently.
Another wave of pain and anguish made Percy curl up into a fetal position on the ground. Once again, his eyes were assaulted by tears that blurred his vision and they trickled down his cheeks.
"A-anna-beth... I- I can't..." He sounded so lost, like a child without his mother.
"Please, Percy, just open the door!"
"An-nabeth... I can't... I can't wait anymore, it's kill-killing me!"
"Percy, please!" Annabeth pleaded, holding back tears of her own. "Let me in, I can help you!"
"No, Annabeth... There's nothing you can do... It's too far away... I-I'm too far gone..."
"Percy, please! Just wait a little longer!"
"I-I can't wait... An-annabeth, I can't..." His voice cracked, and he could not find the will to carry on.
"An-annabeth?"
"Percy, please! Just open the door! We can do this, together!"
"I-can't, it hurts, it hurts so much! I-can't wait any longer, it... It hurts too much!" Percy's body was wracked with sobs as pain attacked him, again and again.
"I... I'm so, so sorry, Wise Girl... Remem-remember... I love y-"
"Percy? Percy!" Annabeth yelled, the rivulets of tears on her cheeks glistening like silver. Silence.
"Percy?! Answer me! Please, please, please!"
Annabeth slid her back down the door as the revelation hit home. "No..."
"No, no, no, no, NO!"
"Um, guys?" Jason said. "I'm pretty sure that you can wait 2 years for the next season of Sherlock."
