Hello readers, so I know it has been soooooo long since I posted anything, but this summer has been crazy, and I know it's a rubbish excuse, but I was busy, but I'm back! With another story from my Vortex Child series, a one shot about Lily getting a haircut, and the Doctor not liking it. Inspired by my own father's reaction when I drastically changed my own hair length.

Lily smiled in the mirror, turning her head this way and that, checking out her new stylish haircut. It was a change, that was for certain, her hair was much lighter, and not to mention. Shorter.

"What do you think?" asked the bouncy young girl who stood behind her.

Lily grinned, unable to resist reaching up and fluffing her hair, "I love it!" she said.

The stylist grinned at the praise, and untied the paper strip from around Lily's throat, freeing her from the apron, causing more of the hair that had just been attached to her head to flutter to the floor.

Lily stood from the chair, and continued to watch how her hair moved, in the mirror.

"If you could just step over here." The stylist started, "We can get you all squared away, so you can head out."

Lily nodded, and walked up to the desk, and pulled out some cash, and laid it on the table.

"Have a nice day." The stylist said smiling sweetly.

"You to." Lily said, walking to the door.

Out on the street Lily started off to the TARDIS, which she had high jacked and parked a block away while she got her haircut. She smiled at the blue box and pushed open the door, and stepped inside, only to be greeted by a livid Doctor.

"What have I told you, about randomly stealing the TARDIS" The Doctor stopped when he saw her hair, "What happened to your hair?"

"I got it cut."

"Where did it all go?"

"I got it cut."

"But, I liked your hair!"

"It was getting too long."

"But, but, your hair!"

Lily shook her head, "Gets a bit bothersome with all the running dad."

The Doctor shook his head, "Why would you cut your hair?"

Lily sighed, "I already told you."

"But I liked your long hair."

"You know I can't just go and glue it back to my head right?"

"Why not?" The Doctor asked.

Lily face palmed, "It, it just doesn't work like that dad." She sighed.

"It'll grow back right?" He asked, his voice a little pleading.

Lily groaned, and didn't answer as she pushed past her father and down the hall to her room.
