It wasn't often that Leo and Elliot were seen without one or the other and it was a very strange sight for Lydia. Though she wasn't complaining and she had a feeling that Selphie had something to do with this - having seen the other woman dragging Elliot around during the festival.

Lydia had to wonder just what Selphie was up to. It was no secret to her that Lydia had a crush on Leo, after all.

"Ah, Lydia are you alright?" Leo inquires, glancing at her. Lydia blinked at him before waving her hands around wildly and answering;

"Of course I'm alright! Why wouldn't I be?" In truth she had gotten a little embarrassed about being caught so deep in thought. Several times Leo had to make sure she didn't trip over anybody's feet or run into anybody as they walked.

Leo smiled, "That's good. You seemed lost in thought for a minute."

"Just a little." grinned Lydia sheepishly holding up her thumb and forefinger with just a hair's breath of space between the two to help prove her point.

"That's good to hear."

The two lapsed into silence again, wandering about and enjoying the rare silence between the two. Sounds of the crowds around them, children and dates playing the festival games and chatting merrily. Occasionally they could faintly hear Elliot and Selphie off in the distance though it didn't sound nearly as angry as it usually was.

"Sounds like they're having fun, huh?" Lydia chuckles sheepishly. Leo chuckled back with a nod before the two lapsed back into a comfortable silence.

It was nice and a change of pace from the normal with Elliot and Selphie often filling that silence with bickering. Neither had to talk to be comfortable around one another nor did they feel the need to fill that silence.

A large bang echoed and caused people to glance up at the dark sky where, amidst the stars, a large bright purple firework had gone off fading as it the seconds passed. Lydia burst out into a grin before grasping Leo's hand in her and dragging him up onto higher ground to better view the fireworks which were the grand finale of the entire festival.

"Lydia?"

"I wanna get a better view!"

"You don't have to rush, you know?" came the playful answer.

"But I want to see the lights!"

Leo froze, though Lydia hadn't noticed the shocked look on his face as she continued to pull him after her. There was no way she could know about the lights he saw - he hadn't spoken about them to anyone; it was his secret.

But somehow thinking that Lydia may have known had frightened him.

Leo swallowed the lump in his throat at this as Lydia stopped, leaning against the railing of the area she had chosen and smiling up at the fireworks as they continued to light up the night sky. Leo watched her for several seconds before smiling again.

He did have to admit that sometimes seeing those strange lights gave off a nice atmosphere...

All too soon it seemed the fireworks had stopped and Lydia stretched her arms up over her head. "Well tonight was fun, don't you think, Leo?"

"Hold still, please." Leo smiled, reaching into his pocket. Lydia blinked turning to Leo curiously before freezing, pink dusting her cheeks as he began to fuss with a few strands of her hair. When he pulled away there was the noticeable green feather clip...

"L-Leo...?" a blushing Lydia inquires shyly.

Leo merely smiled and took her hand in his leading them back to find Elliot and Selphie. At least Lydia looked pretty in those lights, he decided...
