'To Be or Not to Be' A Modern Twist
To live or to die,
That is question I ask myself.
Is it more honourable to live through life,
Taking in it's challenges and problems,
Not running from what fate hands me,
Or to defeat them by taking the easy way out,
The way to end the torture?
To die, to sleep an unending sleep; To sleep,
A chance to dream of happiness,
End the troubles of the world;
Heh, there's the impossible thing,
Because the sleep of death contains
No dreams, and whatever may occur,
There is no waking, having forever left the
Mortal world. These are the wonderings which
Stop us from bringing our lives to an end, and
Force us to endure life's misfortunes. Therefore,
Why must we live through these wrongs of
Mankind, the proud man's arrogance, the
Heartbreak of unrequited and unvalued love,
The law's inability to quickly deal justice,
The unfairness of those unworthy people
Taking what belongs to the worthy, instead of
Finding their own escape, when this could
Easily be ended by the use of his dagger?
Who could bear the burdens of a tiring
And desolate life, the only thing forcing them
To endure it being the fear of what may
Be waiting after death, the fear of the
Unknown, from the place where no-one
Has returned. Therefore our conscious makes
Cowards of us all, causing our natural courageous
And vengeful instincts to pale and calm
Themselves, the more we think on it, the more
Rational our thoughts become,
And we lose the uncontrollable rage
Which drives us to commit the crimes
Of a vengeful passion.
But quiet now, here comes Ophelia,
Always beautiful and young, praying
Innocently, for my sins will always
Be remembered, so please, pray for mine
As well.
