Sandra sat on her bed in the hotel, enjoying the cool summer breeze coming through the half open window. Tonight was the last night in Gibraltar. The next morning, she and the rest of her team would be flying back to England.

Sandra reflected over the time she'd had in Gibraltar. It had been certainly different; she'd enjoyed relaxing at the restaurant every night. The way Gerry had been looking at her, they'd been flirting, and laughing and enjoying a drink earlier in the evening when Gerry had cleared his throat and was about to say something to her when Sandra's phone had rang, it was Strickland asking how the case had been going. Gerry had gone to have a cigarette; Sandra didn't have a chance to ask him about what he was going to ask her. She looked at the clock on her phone. Only half past ten, there would be a good chance that he would be packing.

If he was going to ask her what she thought he was, Sandra would be happy. She had loved him for years, but she was too scared to tell him, she thought that he would not take her seriously.

She got off of the bed, closed the window in case the monkeys got in, and went through the door. She knocked on the door of Gerry's hotel room. He opened it. "Guv? What's up?" he asked. 'I want to talk to you about what you were going to ask me earlier' Sandra said. "Okay" he stood aside to let her in. She sat on his bed. He joined her.

'What did you want to ask me?' Sandra asked him gently. "Er, well, I" Gerry began. 'Gerry, if you're going to say you love me, well, I've got news for you. I love you as well' Sandra replied. Gerry stared at her. "Sandra? You're not winding me up, are you?" Gerry asked her. 'No. I'm not. Mind you, if it was you saying that I would ask exactly the same question, it's the truth' Sandra replied, then kissed him.
