They started off as two nobodies.

He was the bully, stealing from the innocent to try to satisfy some unknown urge in his heart, and yet, no one knew of his existence.

The other one was the innocent, the friend to all yet none, a nobody in the ranks of their school.

But he, Katsuya Jounouchi had learned from the innocent. He was spared, something no one had ever done for him, by the angel of innocence.

The angel had offered his hand, and Jounouchi had taken it. The angel smiled, offering friendship, and greedily he took that to.

But, Jounouchi was always there when the angel needed him. Through thick and thin, he provided the gift he had been given.

Some nights, he would lie awake, thinking of the women of his dreams. And the angel, Mutou Yuugi, would cloud his mind.

He had only thought once of what his father had told him when he was younger. "Son, I want you to marry a nice woman. None of this homosexuality crap, or I'll beat your ass."

But his father had died of alcohol poisoning a long time ago, and since that one night, the words had ceased to bother him.

He had never thought of it that way, but everyone was always commenting on how close they were.

Yugi had certainly never realized, but casually one day, he let it slip.

"Jou, can you believe they think we're in love?" His voice trailed off, seemingly unsure of what to say next.

There was a long moment of silence, and then Jounouchi spoke. "I can, because I am."

The air was a bit tense, and for a moment, he was afraid. But then the angel smiled, and came forward, pressing his lips to Jou's. When he pulled away, he spoke words Jounouchi hadn't expected to hear. "Well when you say it that way, I think maybe they're right."

Jounouchi had never been more grateful for having this angel in his life
