Just a little thing I cooked up in the middle of the night. Enjoy.

This is in the Doctor's POV, just so you know.

Return

Martha's gone back inside the TARDIS. It's too cold for her out here, so I stand alone on this planet. I stare around me at the world that had once been full of so much wonder and beauty. And it still does in a way, I just can't feel it. Last time I came here we'd stayed out for hours, Rose and I, she couldn't get enough of the waves frozen mid-crash.

Waves, one hundred meters tall. Crackling bubbles of ice on top, sleek sheets of it bellow. I remember we had found a wave that wasn't so high and used my old leather jacket to slide down it. I felt the childish innocence fill me as I watched Rose awe at the beautiful scenery, her excitement was contagious.

But I stand here now and all I see are the memories. Memories of her. And there isn't a day that goes by when I don't wish she'd return to me, somehow.

I'm amazed that Martha can stand to be around me, all I do is talk about her, you'd think she would have given up on me by now, though I'm glad she hasn't.

I run my bare fingers over the smooth flowing ice of a wave beside me before turning and walking back to the TARDIS. Perhaps returning to Woman Wept was a bad idea, remembering just the sound Roses laughter makes my hearts ache.

I close the TARDIS doors and sigh. Donna was right, I do need someone.
