My name will be esoteric for your and my safety. A word witch here means 'Hidden from any known and unknown enemy, and known only by a fair few'. As you may know, Lemony Snicket was investigating the lives of three unfortunate children. Yet, he didn't know that he was being watched as well. I am not part of VFD (ever since the schism it has been increasingly challenging) but VSD. VSD is so secretive that only a handful of people know about it, and even less have joined it. Our research has been very successful and true, and I am taking a great risk, both for VSD and Mr. Snicket, posting it on this website.

First off, Lemony Snicket is not his real name. This name is a pseudonym a word which here means, 'A fake name used to protect the author and confuse his enemy'. His pseudonym didn't protect him when "The Unauthorized Autobiography" was released. This book was actually authorized and most of the information was written to bemuse enemies or strangers like you and me. I was completely confused by the story written in the book, and what actually happened. Lemony Snicket is actually a clever man named Daniel Handler. By searching the Internet, I was able to see his real face.

Now that you know the author wasn't a real person I'll tell you about the characters. One was Beatrice, Lemony Snicket's true love. But, until "The End" was released, no one knew exactly who Beatrice was. We knew that she was dead. We knew that she broke his heart. But, it never occurred to me that she was Beatrice Baudelaire, the mother of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. We do not know if Beatrice was a real person, or if there was anyone like her. But Lemony Snicket was just part of the story, so was Jacques, and Kit. It took a huge imagination to make up characters like that, and to twist the story into a fake author.

The last name "Baudelaire" actually belongs to a poet in the 18th century. "Olaf" was a king of Norway. "Quagmire" is a word that means 'a difficult situation' or a 'puzzle'. The last name "Squalor" from Count Olaf's girlfriend means 'a filthy and wretched condition or quality'. The names of the characters can be found in an average dictionary. I felt pretty bad when I was positive that the story of the Baudelaire orphans was just a children's story.

I am sure, that many of you have investigated the truth behind Lemony Snicket, and may have done a better job than VSD has. But I know one thing that you do not. When you were wondering, and searching for answers, you were already a Volunteer Snicket Detective., when you didn't even know it.
