Apocalypse.
Prologue
Dedicated To Fabes999
Rufus Zeno patiently tapped his fingers on his desk. His pearl white hair was balding from all of his stress lately and stress would only cause his aging to quicken. Soon enough, he would experience the satisfaction of watching the stupid and arrogant teenagers suffer. He didn't long immortality anymore if that is your suspicion, he wanted strength. Powers if you will.
The back door slammed and a faint clicking was heard from where Rufus was sitting. His much appreciated assistant was locking the door.
"What are your plans, sir?" The bored voice drawled. "I need to get back to Anubis house before those gits become curious. Mara and Fabian are practicing for this lame nerd fest, apparently, I need to be there."
"We shall wait until dusk. Then, I need you to sneak into the house and plant it in. Our second victim will be their beloved Trudy. Torture her until she comes to our side," Rufus commanded. The sun was rising slowly. Soon he would hold the Staff of Invincibility.
His mind wandered until he was successfully daydreaming about the long, mahogany stick, balanced by an onyx crystal, made by the most talented Egyptian slaves. I could make them give me the cup, order them to steal fine antiques from foreign countries, and possibly take that pretty blond one's hand in marriage. His thoughts were quickly interrupted
"What should we do with the variable? " A tan, slender arm gestured to Mara Jaffray unconscious, her eyes wide open as if she were merely frozen. Bruises and scrapes covered her once smooth and flawless skin. Her curly black hair was shedding. Sooner or later, she'd become a hideous beast.
"Leave her there, maybe she'll tell us where the cup is. Then we could kill two birds with only one stone! But, you have remains of the potion I presume?" Rufus questioned.
The person in the distance nodded rapidly, stomach feeling queazy of the thought of mortals, like herself, turning into bald and scaly monsters before dying in a pit of flames. The fire would devour half of the world while water would consume the other. The thought sent shivers through down her spine.
"Good. Now head back to the experimental lair. You'll feel when I want you to return to headquarters. Remember, pretty little Mara is important during our equation. Although she's just a variable, everything counts. Do not slack off because she is not important. Now go." Rufus ordered and closed his electric blue eyes as his semi-identical, yet altered Mara Jaffray vanished from his new home.
This is a prologue. It's going to be a lot different in the actual fic. This is just to test out how my story is going to work. Remember, this is a LOT different then the actual fanfiction. My next chapter is going to be LONGER, BETTER, and IN A DIFFERENT POV. Review please! Oh yeah, and by the way, I'm not sure if my scientific terms are correct. I AM SUCKISH AS SCIENCE! NEVER HAVE BEEN GOOD WITH IT. Also, if your confused, this is a prologue, it's not going to give away too much until the end. At the end, it will ALL make sense.
