Chapter One: Shopping trip!
Ruby's POV
I was walking to the nearest clothing store so I could pick up my outfit for my journey, my mom said I can buy whatever I want. Since I'm going to be a coordinator, I needed a contest outfit too! The Grand Festival… winning it is my biggest dream. Becoming Top Coordinator! About an hour later, I was done. For my traveling outfit, I had a black long-sleeve t-shirt and a pair of jeans alongside a white cardigan, with black sneakers. For my hair, I had a black headband with a Poke Ball design on it. The shirt had that, too. My contest outfit was way fancier. It was an ankle-length black ball-gown style dress. My hair stayed down in this outfit, and I had black high heels for shoes. I ran home, walked in the door, and laughed. My birthday was tomorrow, that was the day when the fun began! Traveling! I hopped on my bed. Sapphire, my little sister, walked in. We shared a room. "So, excited huh?" asked Sapphire, who was one year younger than me. "Yeah," I said. "It's going to be so much fun… Traveling all over! I can't wait." Just then, my friend Sasha walked in. We were all going on separate journeys, me and the Adventure Squad. That's what we called ourselves. There was me, Sasha, Connor, Toby, Jason, and Laura. Sasha sighed. "I want you to have this, Ruby. It's a photo album, a photo album kit, and a camera. So you can take pictures when you're traveling," she said. I smiled. "Thanks Sasha! I'll take good care of it, I promise." Sasha laughed. "Okay, don't worry, you won't break that thing, it's got a special cover on the outside. Now come on, there's a party! It was Connors idea." I laughed, and we ran off to the party. When we got there, everyone had their own gifts for me, and each other. Connor told me to follow him outside, he had something to show me. So I followed, and her showed me a black bike covered in little silver designs. "It's all yours, Sketch," he said. Laura got me a friendship necklace. She kept one half, and I took the other. Toby got me a journal and a pen. Jason's was a black scarf, hat, and gloves. "When you get to the colder places, you'll need it," he said. Eventually, it was time to get home. When I did, Sapphire kept asking questions, which I answered until about midnight, when I finally fell asleep.
