Her eyes search for him.
She weeps for him
She no longer feels the pain of his ice cold stare
Sarah sat at her window, staring at the night sky. She stared in amazement at the stars. She dreamt of the moon.
The moon
She marvels at the moon. Its beauty, almost as dazzling as a certain someone's eyes. She sighed. The moon was a slave to the sun. Following and watching from a far. She was in awe with the stories that related to the sun and the moon. The stories say of the two being forbidden lovers. Seperated by two different worlds. Lovers to never truly see each other than few moments during twilight or during the rare beautiful moment of an eclipse.
She sighed.
Just fear me love me do as I say and I will be your slave.
Sarah shook the memory from her thoughts. She looked up at the moon once more and saw the silhouette of a white bird hidden in the darkness of the trees. She squinted her eyes to get a better look.
A white barn owl
A white barn owl sat within the branches of the shady tree. Its eyes glowed in the darkness.
"Its eyes…" Sarah thought, "I'm imagining this. It can't be him. Look into the eyes."
One eye was normal the other dilated to epic proportions.
"It can't be…" she pleaded to herself.
"The goblin king!" she scoffed.
"His majesty would never take even a second glance…"
"Why is he torturing me?" she gently whispered. Sounding no more then the rustle of the wind.
Just fear me love me and I will be your slave
The words repeated in her head o that voice she thought they were an ever-going chant. "How that voice has been trapped within my wildest dreams, my nightmares, my fantasies." She whispered to herself.
Sarah continued to stare at the owl. She shivered as she remembered his face contorted in to a desperate plea.
"You have no power over me" she chuckled unhumorously.
"He has all power over me. He has nothing but power over me. Just the delight of him being near me or in the same room would make Goosebumps appear on me… Oh how I miss him. The beautiful fae a king at most that fell in love with the plain human with an over active imagination." Sarah whispered into the night. She sat still staring at the bird that has not moved.
"Good night…" she said to the owl.
She slumped onto her bed. It had been five whole years since she had ventured within labyrinth. She knew it was no dream when she woke the next day. She found herself bumping into goblins every now and then. She still called upon her friends, especially during her college years. Sarah lay on her bed and looked up at the ceiling. She turned on her radio and set the volume on low. The music that played was more of a melodic background. She lay there thinking of the beautiful fae. As she fell asleep soft quiet words left her lips.
I love you Jareth.
The barn owl that lay in the shadows, no perched itself on the tree in front of her window. Suddenly with a poof and a shower of glitter Jareth appeared in human form inside Sarah's room. He looked upon Sarah's sleeping form and smiled. Jareth place a light kiss on Sarah's cheek. She sighed in content.
As I you my queen.
He kissed her other cheek and disappeared. The only evidence that proved Jareth had indeed been in Sarah's room was a single white owl feather along with glitter sprawled around it.
