Spoilers-Doomsday
Summary- He told her once "Never say never ever" So she would wait for him, for her Doctor. 10/Rose. Serious angst warnings. Set post doomsday.
Disclaimer-I still don't own anything. No matter how hard I try.
His final words seemed to echo round her head.
"Rose Tyler…Rose Tyler…Rose Tyler…"
What had he been going to say? I love you? If he had had the time to say those words, would he have been able to? Did he really love her? Had he wanted to tell her every day since they met? Had she never given him the chance?
Despair swept over her and threatened to engulf her completely, wash her away until she gave up all hope.
What had he done after the gap in the universe had closed? She tried to imagine his face. Did he cry? She had never seen him cry before, only nearly, he had been so close to tears after he had left Reinette for the last time. Did he love her enough to shed tears for her? Did he simply move on? Like he always did. Pacing round the glowing console, setting random co-ordinates for his next adventure. On his own. Or would he be? How long had it been for him since they stood together on that cold, cruel beach in Norway? Had he found someone else already? Would he love them to? Would he hold their hand like he had held hers? Promising adventure and love.
She wept again as she thought of all the things she didn't know. All the things she had wanted to say. All of the things she had wanted to ask. Lost. In time, in space they had vanished. She would never see his face again. Never hold his hand again. Never share a smile, a look, a moment.
"Never say never ever" he had told her once, and she smiled bitterly. They had been together then, hand in hand, and he had been warning her of when they might be pulled apart. Preparing her for the inevitable.
But now they were apart and his words still clearly sounded in her ears. They were separated by the void; the nothingness and they would never see each other again. But like The Doctor said, "Never say never ever" so she would wait for him. She would wait forever if that was what it took. She would wait for him because, like Reinette had unknowingly taught her, some things were worth waiting your life for.
Reviews are wonderful. I personally think this is a bit sappy. But please let me know what you think. It's your opinion that counts. Not mine. I'm only the writer.
