I don't own a House...or any doctors...

So I got a little break from my horrible writers block and decided to write this.

It's not my best work.

But I like it and I hope you do too.

Enjoy

Hold your breath and count to 10

1.

You've always known it would happen eventually.

(If the tears that started pouring down your cheeks the last time you listened to Gone on your ipod wasn't enough then the fact your most recent painting just happened to include bruise colored trees and a grey sun should have been.)

You choose to ignore the issue and go about your life, even if you can't stand the shadows that leak into your stomach every time you leave your apartment.

2.

Your mother was blue and your father was purple.

Which means your night colored, just without the shiny stars and glowing moon.

Foreman and Cameron are orange and House is green.

The air is red, but you think that might be the cherry lollipop you just ate.

Everyone seems to think the world is grey.

You know that it's actually plum colored.

3.

The last living creature you were close to was your pet Oscar fish Walter.

He killed every other fish you put in his tank.

You wonder what that says about you.

4.

When there's no patients to treat or clinic hours to do and your sitting around pretending to work on a crossword puzzle you imagine a little place in the country with a dog and a white picket fence. Where House has no limp, you aren't crazy and sometimes you curl up on the porch swing with your head in House's lap and watch the sunset.

You picture the bedroom you and House would share.

(And at night when your all alone in your apartment you often find your hand slowly slipping inside your boxers while you imagine what would happen in that bedroom.)

5.

Much to your surprise (and disappointment) Cameron is the first to notice that something's wrong.

She pesters you non-stop, telling you how she's there for you and how she's always around if you ever need to talk.

When you brush her off and tell her your fine she goes to Wilson.

You've always felt bad for him. Everyone goes to him to fix their problems.

It pisses you off that no one stops to think that maybe he has problems of his own.

6.

He come's to talk to you anyway.

You tell him that he's yellow.

He ends up with his arms wrapped around you as you sob into his shirt.

7.

You take the pills Wilson prescribes.

Two every morning.

They're like smoke bombs, creating a haze around you as you walk through the halls of the hospital.

You've stopped crying when you listen to The Butterfly Effect.

Now you cry when you listen to Echo and the Bunnymen.

8.

You call in sick, lock yourself up in your apartment, open a bottle of wine, pop open your half empty bottle of pills and swallow them all.

(It's quiet and you wish you would have picked a song you could die to.)

9.

Wilson ends up breaking down your door. He scoops you up, carries you to his car and speeds off to the hospital.

You struggle and sob as they pump you stomach.

Next time you'll just jump off a building.

10.

Cameron cries for you, Foreman pities you and Cuddy wonders how everyone missed this.

House sits in a chair beside your bed ready to spring into action if anything goes wrong.

You can't move or talk but you can feel it when he reaches out and grasps your hand.

You figure you'll end up offing yourself eventually.

(But you decide to try as hard as you can to make the most of the time in-between now and then.)
