THE FIRST TIME ED SAID I LOVE YOU TO:

TRISHA:

The first time Ed said "I love you" to his Mum was a day after her funeral. Granny had taken Al shopping and Winry knew from Ed's demeanor that he needed to be alone, so she left him to it. He walked slowly to the grave yard and collapsed over Trisha's head stone and cried out

"I'm sorry I never told you before but I thought you knew from my actions, but just in case I love you Mum."

After awhile he sniffed back the last few tears he had, dried his eyes on the handkerchief that Winry had stuck in his pocket and walked home.

ALPHONSE:

The first time Ed said "I love you" to his little brother was the first night after they got Al's body and his arm back. He stood in the doorway of Al's hospital room and whispered the words.

"I'm so sorry Al, I should have told you sooner but I love you. I always hoped that my actions spoke for them selves. Sorry little bro, please forgive me."

Then he went off to his adjoining room and cried himself to sleep.

HOHENHEIM:

They had been back in Resembool for a few days, they had been to their fathers grave once to say "thank you and good bye."

Then one day when Granny had taken Al into Central for a check up. Ed went off for a walk while Winry was busy with customers. He walked slowly to the grave yard. Once there he stood in front of his parents graves, he threw dirt and stones at his fathers, before collapsing and saying under his breath.

"I'm sorry Dad, thank you for your help in getting our bodies back, I love...I love you."

Then he got up brushed the dirt off his pants and walked back home

GRANNY:

It was the right before his wedding, Ed was in his and Al's room at the Rockbells, he was bent double with nerves, trying to get his breathing under control. There was a knock at his door and Granny poked her head around the door.

"Oh dear, Your not having second thoughts are you Ed?" She asked with concern.

He shook his head and she nodded. "Ah nerves, right take slow deep breaths."

As soon as Ed had his breathing under control and could stand, she sent him outside to the garden where the guests were gathered and waiting.

As he walked to the door he stopped and looked back at Granny,

" Me and Al have never really thanked you properly for looking after us, for taking us in after everything that's 've always been there for us and you don't know what that means to us. Your our Granny and I want you to know that I love you."

Then he ran as fast as he could outside before she could respond.

Granny smiled and went to get Winry.

WINRY:

The first time Ed said I love to Winry was their wedding night. She was in the bathroom removing her make up and taking her hair in front of the mirror. Suddenly Ed was hugging her. He smiled at her in the mirror and she smiled back,

"How are you this fine evening Mrs Elric?" He asked, his grin getting wider as he said her name.

"I'm fine, Mr Elric, how are you? Didn't you just get married?" She responded as she finished removing her make up and started to take her hair down.

"I've never been better. I did just get married. She's rather wonderful my wife, she's waited for me for such a long time. I...I Love you Winry. I always thought that the people who I loved knew that from my actions but I've never been sure. So while I can I want to let those I love know that I do."

Then he hid his face in her hair.

Winry smiled at him.

"I've known you loved me for a long time, I wasn't to sure if it was as a sister or not, but I've known possibly for longer than you have, how you felt, your actions give you away. That was why the Homunculi used me as a hostage. But it is nice to hear you say it. And just in case your wondering I love you too."
