Rather short, I know. I also know there are a LOT of fics of this very scene, or at least this very theme. Do I care? Not really.
You see, I had stopped reading Bleach like, three years ago. Then, last week I came back and caught up with it. And when I read the chapter where Ulquiorra dies (not sure which one it is), this came to mind.
Soo, if it sucks too much, I apologize... But enough with the ramblings, let's go to the story!
"When you die, your heart stays with your comrades who survived. I'm not afraid of death because my friends have come to save me; my heart is already with them." She had said.
At that time, he did not understand why humans spoke that word so much. "What is this heart you speak so much of? Could I see it if I burst open a hole in your chest? Would I find it if I cracked open your skull?"
Now, as he was vanishing, he finally understood and could only regret saying that words to her.
He reached out for her hand, to which she responded reaching out for him as well, and for a brief moment their fingers met. In the split second that happened, he thought to himself:
"I'm leaving my heart to you, woman, because I know you'll take good care of it. If it's you, then I have nothing to worry about..."
She was crying, so much, and he could do nothing but smile to her as he vanished leaving behind the woman he now knew he loved.
The End.
