CHAPTER 1 Just as the Hogwarts Express pulled into platform 9¾, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew all strutted through the barrier from muggle station, Kings Cross, after already saying their goodbyes to their families. A large grin spread across James' face, "Well boys, we're back. Back for our sixth year. Seniors now!" he said, attempting to jazz it up a bit," Just think of all the pranks we'll pull!" his grin widened," Not to mention the girls." Sirius grinned back," And maybe we have a new Quidditch captain on our hands!" he thumped James on the back as Lupin glanced at his watch, "We'd better get on board, maybe we'll be able to sit in the same compartment as Lily Evans!" he smirked at James, as his eyes glazed over slightly at the mention of Lily's name. "One day she will Lily Potter." he thought to himself. As James and Sirius practically sprinted onto the train, Lupin turned to Pettigrew, "I had a feeling that'd move him!" he laughed as they followed on, stepping onto the great steam engine.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the platform, stood a small huddle of teens. Bellatrix and Narcissa Black, Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange, Severus Snape, Lucius Malfoy and two boys, known mainly as Crabbe and Goyle. Each looked slimier and nastier than the last. As they spotted James and his little gang, descending the platform, Bellatrix snorted, "Oh, look who's arrived! Fun and joy!" The rest glared as the Lestrange brothers cracked their knuckles, "This year Potter, this year," Rabastan hissed. A small smile spread across Bellatrix' face, she has a thing for Rabastan, little did she know, she was to marry his brother years ahead. Snape tossed his hair out of his face," Why don't we all just get on the train before Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, over here, start World War Three with that lot!" he asked the gang as a scowl was fixed onto Ms. Black's face. Lucius stared at him for a moment before saying, "Yeah, come on guys, for once Snapey's talking some sense, don't want to get expelled on the first day back now, do we?" he sniggered, walking towards the train as the others followed behind him.
As all of this was going on, Lily Evans and her friends stood up from the wooden bench they were sitting on waiting for the train to arrive and take them to school. Amelia Bones smiled, "Hey, look Lily! Its James!" she said, attempting not to laugh. Lily didn't like James much, no matter how smitten he was, "Argh! He wants to get a life. Just cause he an amazing Quidditch player doesn't mean that I'll go out with him!" she whined. A small, shy girl, Alice Wilson spoke up," Oh come on Lily! You can't say he's not kind of sweet!" she looked over at him, "I know I wouldn't say no!" Lily shook her head, "Let's get on the train before he notices me!" she looked over to see him sprinting onto the train, "On second thoughts, let's take a walk down here, the end carriage." she said vaguely walking quickly past the carriage James and his friends were in.
This is Alice Longbottom. Didn't know what her actual maiden name was.
