Disclaimer: I don't own the History Boys sadly...

Dorothy "Totty" Lintott gingerly lifted her tall frame from the stadium seating and sedately walked to the field, lighting her cigarette as her long legs took her towards the rowdy team. Spotting the young man she had come to see, Totty deftly waded through the cheering, victorious athletes, ignoring the wolf whistles but secretly pleased by the pinching she felt on her bottom. With a startled look, her intended prey spotted her before she could sneak up and motioned with his head for her to follow him. The two made their way up the field to a small stand of trees, her following behind three paces. With a quick turn, the boy crossed his arms over his chest, realized who was in front of him and quickly put his arms back to their side, before finally deciding to place them in his pockets.

"What are you doing here?" Peter Rudge asked his former teacher.

"To watch a game it would appear," she answered back dryly, ignoring the frown that appeared on his face at the flip answer. "Congratulations on the victory by the way."

Rudge nodded his thanks. "It was a good game, looks like we'll do well this year."

More moments passed by as Rudge studied his teammates across the way and Totty studied him. "And you? How are you doing, Rudge?"

"Fine," he answered shortly. "Is that why you're here? To follow-up on poor Rudge?"

Totty said nothing, just pulled out another cigarette and lit one up, offering the pack to Rudge, who shook his head, opting instead to lean against a tree.

"I'm doing fine, Miss. Studies are hard, but I'm doing well enough to stay on the team. Coach says I'll probably be on the starting team next year."

"Sounds as if you're settling in then," Totty observed. "Do you see the others often?"

Rudge shrugged, "We're all pretty busy. How is Cutler's? Is Felix still there?"

"Heaven forbid he is still there, still bemoaning life. Irwin is still there, though he talks of leaving as constantly as the Headmaster talks of Cutler's scholarly standing. It's been lonely this year, what with He…with you lot gone. I'll be glad to retire at the end of this year finally," she admitted.

Rudge nodded slowly, standing up and brushing the bark off his uniform. "Well, thanks for coming, Miss." He paused, before looking his former teacher in the eyes intently. "I'll be fine, you know that right? I'll always be fine, Miss, you don't have to worry about me."

She smiled gently at him, "Would you please allow this doddering old woman her concern for her favorite ex-student!" Seeing that comment had wiped all expression off his face, Professor Lintott continued. "Tout comprendre, c'est tout pardoner, but fuck me, I don't understand you kids at all sometimes. Now if you're not too busy, I'd like to take you out to lunch. Are there any good pizza places nearby?"

Rudge nodded once more, "I might know a place." Offering his arm, which she graciously accepted, the two slowly walked off the field.

"Now, Rudge, have you heard any good gossip?"

A/N: Hope you guys enjoyed that! I'm going to try to write a few drabbles and one-shots of some of the various friendships and relationships in THB movieverse. This is my first attempt at writing anything for THB so reviews are appreciated!
