"And I can't help but wonder,
when our eyes meet.
Did I catch you staring,
or was it you who caught me?"
Yeah, so, I'm going to do a little series based on this quote… I own nothing, not even the quote so meh…. And please, follow the three R's: READ, RATE, REVIEW!
1: Belarus & Lithuania
Belarus had nothing to do during these meetings. In her opinion, they were pointless and boring. Nothing was ever accomplished, and the only constant was the presence of alcohol and America's stupid ideas. The only reason she actually showed up was to sit next to брат, because he refused to be near her otherwise. The only reason she was actually allowed to sit near him was because no one else wanted to sit by him-except maybe China. She made a mental note to deal with that man soon-, and that was fine with her. She just wanted to be near her брат, and hated the fact that she almost never could be.
But she never understood why he liked others better than her, like the Baltics, and especially, that coward Lithuania. All he did was paperwork; he cried and he shivered and he smiled and he looked at her and…
Lithuania was looking at Belarus; he wasn't ashamed to admit it. Belarus, with her long, beautiful hair and her deep, wonderful eyes and her air of regality that she wore like a cape, surrounded by an aura of danger… Cold, lovely Belarus. He'd always liked her, always been frozen in place when he tried to talk to her, frozen by her all-knowing eyes that were like chips of ice. So he watched from behind, watched as her hair swung when she walked faster to follow Russia, watched her blue dress gather and then twirl when she spun around with a glittering knife in her hand. The only reason he really came to the world conferences-stupid, boring things they were- was to see her. To see her from the front, not from the side when he was hiding or from the back when he was following.
So he turned his head slightly to look at her, and found her staring back at him, with the barest hint of confusion on her icy, captivating face.
And they were both thinking the same thing- or rather, variations of the same thing.
Why is he looking at me, or is he looking at брат? No, he's looking at me… Did he see me staring at him? He's probably scared again. That coward. But… did I catch him staring, or did he catch me?
She's looking at me! She's looking at me! Why is she looking at me? Is she plotting to stab me or something like that after the meeting? Well, even if she does, it means that I get to spend more time with her… But… did I catch her staring, or did she catch me?
