Just lovin' the new season and this popped into my head. Very short and a little sweet 3
Disclaimer: If only, if only...
Kate Beckett sat on her kitchen bench, legs swinging, eyes staring anywhere but on her phone which lay patiently next to her. Her fingers were clenched and her nose was screwed up in frustration as she mentally kicked herself for being like a teenager. She bit her bottom lip angrily as she jumped from the bench and picked up her phone triumphantly before sliding to the cold tiles of her kitchen floor and letting her mobile drop from her hand with a small thud.
God, I'm pathetic! She thought as she covered her head in her hands and wiggled in frustration. I'm needy, I'm clingy, I'm jealous.
She hit the back of her head lightly against the cupboard and sighed, reaching once again for her phone. She breathed in out deeply before calling his number and raising the device to her ear.
"Admit it, you miss me" Came his cheery voice from the other end of the phone, too cheery. But damit… the man was right. They had only left each other a couple hours earlier and as soon as he had disappeared from her line of vision she wanted him back.
"Castle, we just saw each other." She said, trying to sound strong and collected.
"Well, if it means anything, I miss you." Her heart melts right then and there. Why was this so hard? She was Kate Beckett she could do anything, right?
She clears her throat, trying to steady her love sick heart. "What are you doing now?"
"Hmmm" He pauses, feigning thought. "Well, I know this detective you see."
She knew he was smiling. "Uh huh." She replied, a smile forming on her own lips.
"She's gorgeous, sweet, and when she smiles it feels like all is right in the world."
"Castle…"
"No, wait, let me finish." She remains silent. "So anyway… this detective, she lives in an apartment all alone so I thought that maybe I'd give her some company. As I arrive at her door, my hand poised, ready to knock, my phone begins to ring, and imagine my surprise as I glance at the caller ID."
Her eyes narrow suddenly, as realisation hits her. "Are you outside my door?" She stands up quickly and walks out of the kitchen.
"Well the gorgeous detective in my story could be you, but Ryan and Esposito are quite dashing, though don't tell them I said that."
She laughs as she reaches for her doorknob, phone still at her ear. She opens the door, revealing none other than Richard Castle and she can't help the smile that spreads across her face. He walks up to her and takes the phone from where it is cradled to her head and whispers in her ear, "All is right in the world."
Thanks for reading! :) Review?
