I am Captain Charlie Glenburn of the 56th precinct, I was given command of a science crew, five scientists a medic and an assistant medic, with instructions to go up to Mandesna and fix their computers. They sent up an "escort", five heavily armed soldiers, who I later learned were special ops troops. Command said there was a problem with communication; I think they knew all along what was going on. We were just testing their toys.

It has been three days since we arrived at Mandesna. Even now its hard for me to think of the sight we saw when we entered the airlock… corpses everywhere, the walls were red with blood. The sight nearly drove me mad; several of the crew emptied their stomachs. I sent those who fell sick back with our assistant medic; I hoped we could find some use for our medic… a futile hope.

The rest of the station was deserted, all the escape pods were present, the good men of the army had followed orders; none had left, brave men… stupid men… dead men. This discovery also told us something else; whatever had killed these people was likely sill on the station. This seemed to have dawned on some of the others and several of the men unhooked their guns. I sent the rest of the scientist back with the medic and three of the soldiers. Meanwhile I and the other two explored the rest of the station, it wasn't too large but it took us at least half a day

We had been told this was a pit stop station, a stop by between Earth and Solaria… what the army was trying to do here I still don't know but this was no pit stop station, it was the most heavily secured station I could ever conceive, it was built to prevent whatever was inside from getting out… but it failed.

There was not a single living being we could find aboard the ship. I had the soldiers check the stations log and see if anyone was missing… here we found our first surprise, the log was wiped clean. Not one person was listed as part of the crew. This was station was either highly classified or whatever had killed these people had also removed their names from the crew log.

The screen flickered and the names of my crew appeared on the screen. Suddenly the station came to life, lights turned on everywhere and the maintenance droids started cleaning up the bodies as if they were nothing more than dust or garbage. The screen flickered again and my crew was displayed once again, this time with pictures names and all their information. Suddenly the picture of one of my bodyguards appeared on the screen, and then the picture of my other bodyguard appeared. A second later something hit me from behind I lost consciousness and I only came too several hours later in my cabin. The medic informed me that I had been found in the airlock passed out; there was no sigh of any of my bodyguards.

I would have left at this point but I feared that whatever had killed all those people in the station and my own escort may well now be on my ship.
