"You took lessons as a child didn't you?" Dan asked bitterly. Phil skated backwards in a circle around him.

"Nope," he said grinning.

"Liar," Dan hissed.

"You're just jealous!" Phil called.

"Jealous of staying upright? Yeah I am."

"It's easy," Phil said holding his hands out. Dan took them and clomped forward, the ice skates feeling foreign on his feet. Phil laughed, tugging him backwards with him.

"It's not easy!" Dan complained. Phil gave him a shove, propelling him forward. Dan let out a yelp and toppled forward. Dan lay on his face, muttering obscenities.

"Sorry," Phil said, trying to muffle his laughter. Dan pushed himself off the ice, wobbling until Phil grabbed onto his arm.

"If you drop me," Dan threatened. Phil loosened his grip, grinning widely.

"I'm serious Phil," Dan said. Phil pulled Dan into him, hugging him softly. He pulled back softly to look into Dan's eyes.

"Everything is always more beautiful reflected in your eyes," Phil whispered. Dan scowled.

"You're so cheesy," he said, turning slowly and inching away. Phil skated around Dan and stopped in front of him. Dan turned again, his smile giving him away.

"You could skate better if you actually tried," Phil said, nudging him. Dan paused thinking about it. He pushed off, trying not to fall. With a yelp, Dan toppled forward, landing awkwardly on his arm.

"Dan?" Phil asked worriedly, skating to his side and crouching down. Tears came to Dan's eyes though he blinked them away.

"Dan?" Phil asked again frantically. Dan rolled over carefully and let out a groan.

"My wrist," he mumbled.

"Can you move it?" Phil asked, helping him sit up. Dan tried and with a hiss, nodded. Phil helped Dan into the lodge and sat him in a chair.

"I'm getting you some ice Dan," Phil said, watching him carefully.

"Could just put me back outside," Dan muttered. Phil didn't respond. He came back moments later and pressed the ice onto Dan's wrist. Dan swore at the cold. Phil bent, not listening to him and started unlacing his ice skates. Dan looked at him gratefully.

"I almost wish I was an octopus right now," Phil said, sitting next to him.

"Why?" Dan asked confused, the ice numbing the pain in his aching wrist.

"Then I'd have four times as many arms to hug you with," Phil answered simply. Dan laughed.

"Two will have to do for now." Phil nodded wrapping his arms around Dan. Dan returned the hug with his uninjured arm.

"I'm sorry you got hurt," Phil whispered into Dan's shoulder.

"It's okay. Now I get all the free hugs from you I want," Dan whispered back.

"You could have had them all anyway."
