It was a rare day when the 25 years old Shinichi Kudo wasn't out solving a case. He was at his neighbor's kitchen bothering the tenant of the house.

"Haibara~ I'm bored" Shinichi complained.

"Are you sure there's no dead body around?" The 15 years old answered as she prepares the food for tonight.

"That's not funny you know."

"You said you were bored."

"Fine, it's my fault." he changed the topic. " How are the kids by the way? I haven't seen them in a while."

"Ayumi got asked out by the captain of the soccer club." She told him. "She's begging me to go on a double date."

"Are you going?" He was clearly trying to not sound upset at her news.

"Not that it's any of your business, but I think it might be nice to go out on dates." She continued to busy herself with making the stew.

"Well, I feel pity for the boy who is getting tricked into dating a 90 years old grandma." The comment earned him a glare from the lady of the house and making Shinichi gulped in nervousness.

"I mean how nice, to go on dates." He forced a smile on his face, and she rolled her eyes at him.

That evening, while they are watching a movie and the professor is snoring next to them, Shinichi started to complain to Haibara again. " You know, it would be nice if I can take my girlfriend on a date once in a while." Haibara shot him a look before checking to see if the professor is peacefully slumbering.

"I didn't know you have a girlfriend." she feigned ignorance.

He pouted before his animated face changed into a serious one, he turned his body to face her and took her hand and softly asked her. "Haibara, will you be my girlfriend?"

Her face grew red in an embarrassment. " Idiot! Do you know how it will look if the top detective is dating a child?!"

"We both know you are more than of age."

"That doesn't matter. What matters, is what everyone sees. A 25-year-old man dating a 15-year-old girl."

He grew silenced and turned to watch the movie once again, upset at Haibara's words.

"Hey, Haibara."

"Hmm?"

"Don't go on that date."

"Fine."
